Thinking of replacing my Bolero with a Zenec or something else.

Featured Replies

Well that’s the problem; I'm not sure what I want to replace it with so I’m hoping you guys can help me out.

I have a `60 plate Octavia Elegance with MFSW, white Maxi-Dot and the connector in the glove box to connect my iPod / iPhone to. Everything else is standard.

My original aim was to fit a Bluetooth kit, either aftermarket or OEM.

I've pretty much ruled out aftermarket (Parrot etc) as I’m not keen on things being added to the dash that shouldn't be there.

OEM would either be the kit that Skoda currently have in their catalogue that sits on the dash or the Bluetooth kit that connects to the Bolero. The former I’m not keen on for the same reason as the Parrot, as well as I’ve read that it’s a bit crap! The latter is an option, but not a cheap one for 'just' Bluetooth. I've had quotes around £400 supplied and fitted for that option, which I’m prepared to pay if that’s the right option to go for.

However, since I found this website last week while researching the different options I’ve become aware that there are several replacement units that would suit my car and potentially my needs.

The cheapo Chinese imports sold on e-bay are a no go for me, just not keen on them and seen some horror stories on here.

The units available from Zenec however do seem very good. But here I get confused again.

From my research I think there are 3 possibilities that I could fit;

ZE-MC5600

ZE-NC2010

ZE-NC2011D

Is anyone able to help me with the differences between these units?

I assume that the 5600 is an older model as it is not listed on the Zenec website, and doesn't come with Sat-Nav as standard (which I’m not that worried about at this stage)

The 2010 and 2011D appear to be very similar, with the 2011D being stated as compatible with my car.

Does anyone have one of these fitted? I'd like to see some pictures of one actually working rather than the pictures on their website.

Any other opinions and input is welcome of course.

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

I like the Bolero, so have kept mine and retro fitted OE bluetooth.

Got the wiring loom from CarSystems.pl for about £45.

A bluetooth module 7P6 035 730F from Ebay for about £80.

Fitted it myself, and then got a friendly local Briskoda member to code it in with their VCDS software for beer tokens.

So genuine OE bluetooth integrated into Bolero and Maxidot for about £125.

Cheers Styler. Thats a genuine option for me i guess. I've gto the tech know how and tools needed to do it all myself, apart from the coding. There are people near me with the kit though i think.

Will wait and see if anyone has used the other options before i decide.
