Jabba Custom Remap

Featured Replies

Im booked in wed morn for a Custom map at Jabba, Is there anything else they can change while mapping the car, ie throttle response? Wish I had a EGR delete to put on then they could get rid of the light.

They can do an egr delete without removing the old egr body :-) it's what unit 18 did on mine. Enjoy your new map :-)

You have a made a good move there!!! I had my Lcr mapped there and now my vrs mapped there. Really

Know their stuff and will transform your car!!

Yeah, they should still be able to stop the EGR from working in the map, so it'll just never open. It's worth getting that done if you think you might want to do the delete as you should simply be able to change the pipework over in future.

Will there be much dif in the stage 1 and a custom? apart from the custom being more $$$

I thought id rather it mapped to my car than just a all round standard map

If it's standard hardware then probably not much difference at all tbh. "Stage 1" is designed around a stock car, so would be perfectly good. If you have things like better cooling, exhaust, etc then you might benefit from a custom map but if not I'd just stick with a generic stage 1. Yes, there might be an extra 1-2bhp on your particular car from a custom map over a generic, but they'll cost you a lot more than the 35 or so you're already going to get from the stage 1, so it's not really worth it IMO.

Is there any adverse effects if I got the EGR mapped out but never actually changed to the delete pipe?

Maybe slightly more restricted if it is really mucky and clogged.

The cheapeset thing to do it to have it mapped out then clean it out.

Also if you have an ASZ engine you get to keep the ASV (Anti Shudder Valve).

Have you asked if they can add launch control? If you want it that is.

Phil

Custom map will be tweaked to your car's own characteristics, even on stock hardware, I would expect a few more horses than just a load up and go generic map.

The BLT's have the anti shudder valver, which means you can only blank the egr off.

We can add launch control. Kev put it on my car( when it was his)

Yeh the BLT's have a seperate electronic one unlike the ASZ one.

I have seen a couple of videos of launch control. It basically limits the revs when the speed is under 20km/h so you can plant your foot on the throttle and have the revs sit at 3000rpm then drop the clutch out... not very kind to the clutch though... :giggle:

what do you mean by blanking the EGR off? I have a BLT engine and was offered by r-tech to have the EGR mapped out when I finally get round to booking it in for a stage 1. But I wasn't sure if I 'have' to do EGR delete or if I could just clean it up like Philje 123 said.

my friend works at Pro Alloy and said he could fabricate me a EGR delete pipe for cheaps, but is it necessary? sorry for the questions, I haven't had a PD engined car for long

Aint a clue what engine mine is. Well I have PD160, ITG and a striaght through so I thought a custom one would be better, I know people say them mods dont do anything but they must be better than standard with a remap.

so have EGR deleted then fit it later on??

By blanking it off I mean either removing the cooler from the inlet manifold and putting blanking plates where the two ends of the egr goes, or blanking it off with leaving the cooler in place(if it's a BLT code, as the ASZ is just a pipe from the egr to exhaust manifold)

The launch control on mine only works when the cars not moving, the revs hit just under 3k, release clutch, and pray it holds together haha

Engine code should be included in the VIN number or on the sticker in the boot if you're interested.

If it's after 2004/2005 if will likely be a BLT.

And yes just get it mapped out with the remap. It will then no longer operate and you can, if you wish, remove it at a later date with no risk of warning lights coming on.

Well I went all the back roads and havnt really gave it the full load because for some reason over 60 my chrome grill pops off lol, I have another just waiting to get it back from the painters. Just gave it one go this morning and there is alot more grunt at top end and when changing gear, and does nor smoke. Could have took it to just over 180 but then it started to smoke.

Its alot smoother then what i had before, I do miss the aggressor map I had before but the jabba was more suited to my car. The map before was pulling 336lb which was all coming in around 2k and the bhp was the same. Now the power is more spread
