Has anyone changed their stereo in a Mk 2 Fabia yet? I am a bit reluctant to change with it being integrated to Maxi Dot and reversing sensors, although the CD player seems to play up quite often and its beginning to annoy me. An exact replacement from Skoda is some ridiculous price (I think the Skoda dealer quoted £400!) Replacement units on Ebay are about £150.

An aftermarket would look a bit funny in the space the existing one takes up but I don't know what else to do. The stereo in my car means a lot to me and I want something that works!

I put a VW RCD 310 DAB in mine so that I can have DAB radio. Aside from the shiny plastic instead of matte and the red back lighting to the buttons, it looks and works in a very similar fashion to the Skoda Swing that I have removed, all the functions are retained. It just slots right in and works. I have had to put in an additional aerial for the DAB of course.

I don't have Maxidot and my reversing sensors are not integrated with my stereo as they are the dealer fit Skoda kit not factory order. However I know that these features work on VW so I would expect them to work fully with Skoda. The RCD 310 is 99% the same as a Swing

I'd go for the RCD310 as well. I want dab radio but just too tight fisted to get it haha.

I have a unit with tv iPod USB internet sat nav DVD etc and it fits my Fabia perfectly cost £300 but it's a British company called ice box auto very helpful

RCD 310 DAB cost me £150 from eBay and aerial £15 from dabonwheels. Quite reasonable really.

sorry i dont wish to hijack this thread but i dont wish to start a new thread regarding a similar query,i have read the replies but i cannot figure out if i can replace standard stereo with say a an Alpine stereo.

I dont care about having the radio station visible in the maxi dot display,but do the beeps still work on the reversing sensors as i still want the reversing sensors?

Yes they still work however be careful as the cars radio won't auto turn its self down so you may think its not beeping when it is.

I have a RCD510 and reversing sensors and the radio does turn itself down when reversing. It can be configurated in the unit. The graphics are tons better in the 510.
