Door lock noise drivers door not working. What should the lock sound like?

At the risk of sounding very OCD what do you doors sound like when locking whilst your inside?

I have the convenience option so my doors lock after setting off and so I hear the locking sound a lot. It's never bothered me, very positive electric lock sound. However recently I came to find my drivers door wouldn't unlock with the central locking. Found manually unlocking it seemed to fix the issue and from then on the door operated as normal except the nice locking sound has been replaced with a slightly louder clunk and what sounds a little "boing" noise. It still sounds completely normal when unlocking but locking seems to have changed.
