Non-Skoda CD player turns off when ignition stops

Featured Replies

I've just removed the standard tape-player from my 2001 Fabia and put the CD-player from my old car in. No issues so far, but is there a way that I can prevent the CD player turning off when the keys are removed from the ignition, as I lose all my pre-set radio stations / CD player returns to first song / Bluetooth settings have to be reset?

Hi, usually there is a red and yellow wire from the back of the stereo, these need to be swapped around from what they are now, this should stop this happening. They often have bullet connectors to make it easy to do.

This ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ - it restores the switched live to permanent live so it remembers where you are on the CD, etc.

+1 swap the red and yellow from headunit as skoda have em switched. It will still turn off when keys are out, but you won't lose your presets or cd place.
