I need to replace a fuel filter housing in my Octy. The part number on the current housing is 3C0127400B. I am looking for a second hand replacement and can find many 3C0127400C. They seem to be exactly the same, can someone tell me what is the difference between B adn C version?

I changed mine yesterday, part number on BOX was 3C0127434 but the part number on the FILTER itself and the one i took out was 3C0127177, very odd i know but i was assured it was the right part prior to carrying out the job.

Also the part number on the side of my fuel filter housing read 3C0127400, so i think they are universal to the 3C0127XXX filters.

My car is a 2007 VRs TDI

Thanks for your answer. Yeah, I have checked and the housing with C symbol seem to be using the same filter insert as the housing with B symbol, I will give it a go then.
