Torque App Woes Mk1 VRS

Featured Replies

Ok so I ordered a bluetooth ELM327 adapter from Amazon and bought the Torque app from android market. Set it all up on my phone and plugged it in and tried to connect. It connects to the adapter but keeps saying it cant connect to the ECU. I have changed various settings but still nothing. I have tried the device on a friends Vectra C and it works fine. So I thought maybe a problem with my OBD port or car etc? So I hooked up my laptop with Vagcom and usb cable and it connected fine, scanned for faults, non found etc.

So my question is: Am i missing something settings wise? Has anyone else had the same problem?

I am really pulling my hair out here so any help would really be appreciated.

Thanks

Dazz

I gave up...

Mine says connected and querying I think

Do you have a Bluetooth phonekit installed (Bury) - I do and wasn't sure if that could be hindering it

No m8 I have no other bluetooth devices installed at all. Its just wierd how it connects ok to another car but not mine, and yet I can connect vagcom and the like to my car no problems.

I just wanted to read and clear a code - ended up plugging the scanner thing in to do it - worked no probs...

Cant really help, bought an ebay adapter and it worked fine straight away. :)

I know this doesnt really help but always try go wired :)

Thanks guys. I would rather go wired but I cant really do that with the Torque App. I want it to read boost, egt temp, intake temp etc so vagcom really isnt enough.

Anyone else have any ideas?

VCDS :)

I just find VCDS is a bit more of a pain when it comes to live data etc. Thats why I wanted the Torque app. Just need to figure out why it wont work.

When you do let me know!!

Its easy mate.

Just make sure you assign the right COM port to the right USB - If you need a hand let me know
