Car Ordered - Thinking of changing options?

Featured Replies

Hi,

Just placed my order last weekend - 140Tdi 4x4 Elegance DSG in cappuccino/gobi w/ SatNav, ParkAssist and a sparewheel.

I was recently told i have a provisional build week of 41.

However, I was toying on the adding on the tyre pressure monitor option (not expensive). Just wondering if such change would impact my current provisional status? Does changing an order (adding the TPM option) put my order at the back of the queue?

I also wanted to ask about the elec seat option; other than the obvious of being electric and having memory settings.

Is there any other differences between the standard seats i.e. in terms of adjustments etc

The seats on my current car have the option of adjusting tilts on the back and the front which makes a massive difference in getting comfy.

Thanks,

Hung

Hi,

adding or changing options can alter the build week depending on the option and the availability of the parts; changing the wheel spec had no effect, however adding front PDC to my order pushed the provisional build week from WK05/11 to week 07/11. Unfortunately provisional build weeks are not cast in stone and my Monster was eventually built WK14/11

Oh changing the spec cannot be done within about 3 weeks of build, as it becomes locked due to the factory having ordered up the components for that build specification.

Elec seat is the one option I missed and should have ticked, changes the seat base angle, along with height and backrest movement and the adjustments are much finer. Believe the seat also has more lumber control as well.

TP

Having had tyre pressure monitors on three cars, I'd say they are not as useful as one might wish. They don't stop you having to check tyre pressures regularly, unless you are content to carry on driving with fairly gross differences in pressure.
