I had a strange alert tone sound over the last two days, with no obvious reason. the first couple of times it went off at night, at ~100kph, with no alert on the Maxidot and nothing in the alerts menu. It happened again today, once whilst moving and the other whilst stationary.

i know it wasn't the ice warning, as that went off at a different time, so discoulted the driving conditions. (OZ, up the snowfields.)

The alert was a deep single chime, and there are no references in the manual.

any hints at all would be appreciated.

Something setting off your parking sensors?

Wouldn't think so, it was quite a deep 'BONG' sound, not like the normal reversing sensor noise.

Memory set button for the electric seat?

it is the traffic program for the RDS on radio. it doesnt work in Oz therefore warning you it is inactive. you will have a small TP in the top right of the screen when radio is on.
