Remap done ;) with party trick

Featured Replies

Well I've had the car about a month now and done a few bits I wanted to before I mapped it

It's been so tempting to do it straight away but I was patient and waited

So today was the day... The gear came out and I did it at last!

Nice smooth map on it so need to get it on the rollers next

I added my little party trick too ;)

Launch control lol

These detail are useless without vids of launch ;)

Cool :) its good fun

How does launch control work on a manual..? Wouldnt you still need to work on clutch/throttle?

It's not launch control as such, more anti lag....I think.

Anti lag would be good :D

I agree it would be, it's something I'm looking into getting soon ready for my 1/4 mile'ing next year.

It's done by modifying an" in gear" torque limiter map.

So it munches through gear boxes?

If you use it all the time of course the effect won't be great... It's hardly ever going to be used... If you had the choice of with or without you would go for it with lol.. No affect on the rest of the map at all

That would stay the same regardless

Correct! It's a speed controlled limiter which cuts fuel until a certain speed is reached, then back to normal.

what is the adress of the hex for the speed control limmiter I could have a go myself at doing it

If you don't mind??

Thats interesting, think the new civic type r does this too.

And you can make the old E30's do it too. 1980's electronics ftw!

Alot of ecu's have similar maps which can be altered to work like a launch control.

If peoples lively hoods didn't depend of such info I would.

The required info is out there, but as FabokaVRS has suggested, you need a deeper understanding of the software structure and the software hardware integration and limits. To do the job properly involves hundreds of man hours researching and developing.

who can do this on mine then? it has been mapped for power and torque already.. is it as easy as anyone can plug it in and map it in and leave all the other settings as they are?

I've PM'd you somone local to you. With the required knowledge, yes, this feature can be added to you're existing software without affecting other modifications.
