Service light reset

Featured Replies

Hi. Not sure if this is the right forum (might need to be in the diagnostics section, if so - sorry). We recently had our Octy serviced by our usual non-dealer garage. He was as reliable as ever but didn't have the equipment to turn the service light off. I said not to worry because there are instuctions in the users manual. Ha! famous last words.

I'm clearly doing something wrong - I've followed the instructions i.e. ignition off, hold in oddometer reset, ignition on, release reset and then nothing. I was expecting a menu to show allowing me to use the clock adjust button to turn the service back but the car just goes into it's normal start up sequence. Any suggestions would be most gratefully received (I know I can just ignore the reminder but that doesn't seem right somehow)

Cheers

Mike

Your almost there, but after you release the odometer reset you have to turn the clock adjustment knob to the right for a second or so until the service message resets.Had to do this myself a while back.

Many thanks, that worked a treat. Maybe it's me being particulalry thick but, for me, the manual doesn't make it obvious that you have to turn the clock set button immediately on releasing the odometer - either way, it's done. Cheers

Good to hear that worked.

Just remember its not suitable to reset the light this way if your on variable servicing.

Yes. I think I remember reading that on this forum, but the reminder was appreciated anyway. The car was ex-fleet and was on variable service but we'd already decided to go down the fixed / annual service route.

Cheers guys. (My fun car is a classic Alfa, I though the forum there was good - this forum is every bit as helpful)
