remap ecu error code turbo

Featured Replies

Hi, I need some advice, I went for a remap to angel tunning in oxfordshire today but before the guys went ahead they told me they'd flagged up an error message related to the 'turbo'/boost maybe solenoid or something. basically what he was trying to say was there's a chance the turbo could go on the drive back home or more like its already on its way out. I'm glad the guys told me before taking the money and remaping it. Should I replace it with and a new one? I'm really eager to get this car remapped :giggle:

What was the code ??? There is no code to say turbo is about to die lol

lol no your right if i remember rightly he took for a drive in booted it in 3rd gear when it started having turbo limp issues etc. It also showed something on his laptop but can't remember. I had a choice to go ahead but declined just to be safe.

being its diesel. you could have sticky vains in your turbo causing it to over boost. that will chuck the car into limp mode and could pop the turbo. it could also be a moody n75 solenoid located on the far right of your bulk head. i have had a tuned TDI bora and the turbos can be a pain in the arse if there filth.

As clive says there isn,t a code to say your turbo is about to go,it will probably have a code related to positive or negative boost deviation, basically meaning the veins are sticking or are stuck,if that is the case people have had success with mr muscle so ive heard.

thats it! the n75 solenoid! he was mentioninjg it think that seems to be the issue. Mr muscle it is then  ! next step is how to go about cleaning it, im guessing its gonna be messy

turbo you need to split to clean.. and the n75 just replace with a new one :)

get the turbo taken off and cleaned properly thats the only way to do it imo

I've cleaned 13 vnt's follow my thread it always works, its long term and does it properly. Don't waste money having it split. I did mine 40k miles ago its still spot on. Read the thread and see others who have had success.

Cheers for the info guys I've done the mr muscle method and it makes a massive difference. But I need to clean my manifold out as its literally charcoaled grilled! While at it more as well take that turbo out same time. Any ideas where to start? I know how to get the egr off now, do I have to jack car up? Can I work from the top? Which gaskets will I need? I know I need manifold gasket. I'll be using innotec on this and also ordered a egr blanking plate
