What oil for 1.9Tdi 110?

Maybe you got a bad batch of fuel. When were the fuel and air filters last changed?

We buy our fuel in different places (usually aim for Shell as it has always given best economy). We've been through several tanks now and economy is still poor. Filters haevn't been done for a bit, but surely that would impact performance rather than economy. We haven't noticed any performance problems - just using more fuel.

Hear the winter diesel idea - but the economy wasn't as bad in the depths of last winter and we haven't got really cold yet!

I'm really confused by this. I'm tempted to drain one car and put something else in. How necessary actually is VAG spec oil on the basic 1.9TDI (non-PD) lump?

Just go to skoda for it, its a lot cheaper than you think. lol

Sent from my Galaxy S2 not a Crapple!

The point being the OP was complaining he did not like the oil he got from Skoda.....
