That's ok, they're nice cars. Hope you get one in decent spec!

No absolute bag

Its a Massey Ferguson diesel

Salesman who phoned said it will be full of diesel as I had just filled the Octavia and he was not in that day

3/4 of a tank queried it with other chap and his grunt was "oh well you'll need to take it up with him when he is back"

Wife was not allowed to drive until I noticed the section on the loan car form saying my name only allowed to drive

Dissapointed so far with things but at least I'll appreciate the citigo more when I get it

I have kept a journal so far which will be handed to the dealer principal when I collect the new car

Sorry to hear of your problems, malcster.

My "loan" Fabia had to be handed back after a few days as they couldn't, after all, loan it me till my Citigo arrived.

Hope you get suitable compensation, when you get the new car.

What they took the car back off you

@Malcster

I still cannot understand why your car is taking so long to arrive. Has the dealer or SUK given you a proper reason for the delay. Is there something odd about your order?

Our car (5dr Greentech 60 in white) was ordered on the 15th Sept and I get it tomorrow - not gloating, just confused...

I keep getting told its the options

I read elsewhere there is a shortage of sunroof body shells

The delay is not the issue its the fact I am being given cars that are for sale which means they could ask for them back at any time so I'm never sure what car I am in next week

I must say Steph at Skoda has been very good the attitude of my dealer thus far is not so good

I am a patient man but I usually reach a point when I let rip ( not farting btw) and that time is approaching

What they took the car back off you

Yes they did.

I queried the salesman at the time and he said Yes, they would loan me a car for however long it took.

I didn't believe they would loan me a car for 6, 7, maybe 8 weeks and it turned out they couldn't.

In the end they MOT'd the Qashqai (which they covered) and I taxed and insured it again.

Anyway I pick up the Citigo on Wednesday, which is good.

Just had a phone call from Steff at skoda

I'm now confirmed week 50 build

Good news, malcster

I was told that there is a certain quota of specs to be built - a balance of S, SE and Elegance and any outside of the expected pattern gets added to the back of the list (hence an Elegance order wouldn't be accepted by Skoda from our dealer until December earliest for a 12-16 week build - and this was 11th Nov - so we bought their demonstrator!). Some dealers will happily take your order knowing that they have no allocation for 2,3 or maybe 4 months - rather underhand but seems to happen a lot.

Happened with the Scirocco (went through that) - orders being taken by dealers knowing they couldn't place them with VW for a few months as they had no allocation left. Usually worse with larger groups, I heard - but no idea if thats really the case.

Only ever phoned her once she has always called me

I just some how need to get her surname and address where she works(without sounding like a stalker) so I can send her some flowers to say thank you

  • 2 weeks later...

Think my mum got lucky as she ordered a Citigo 5 door 60PS Elegance today with sunset, entertainment pack and spare wheel also scheduled for week 4 build!

Just had a call its now in transit

Wow thats some wait you've had.

So with people that have order when are you expecting to take delivery?

Say I was to order a white citigo with all options?

Hi Malcster

It's worth the wait + you should get it before Xmas Yee Haa

Derekmack30

p.s. You should write a book about how long it took you to get it Cheers, enjoy

I know you have waited a long time, but i would wait till January to register it.You will get around £300 more at resale time.

Register it in Dec it will be a 2012 car.Wait till Jan and it will be a 2013 car

I would talk to a (sensible) dealer.

I ordered mine with a specific spec (all options, but not sunroof) that had to be built and it arrived in early September. I've already had it three months!

It does not make sense to me, Malcster ordered around three/four weeks later and had to wait over three months longer.

I was told 10 weeks and it arrived as they said.

This is why I use Preston Motors.

They are straight and do what they say.

One month between registrations will not give you a £300 difference at resale time, not on a Citigo - no way.

I would be inclined to agree, especially if they are both on a 62 plate.

A week or three for the new reg in Mar/Sept I'd wait for though...
