The 12v cigarette socket in my Octy used to stay powered for 30 minutes after switch-off.

In the last week the power remains on permanently. This has happened after I replaced the passengers side horn with a universal Bosch unit. I don't think it's the horn but as part of the fault diagnosis I was using the battery as a direct power source for the old & new horns.

The automatic interior lights off still works.

Does anyone know if this is a setting in VCDS or where I might look to diagnose this?

More to the point, what key words should I plug into google?

The 12v socket has always been permanently live, think you must be mistaken about its previous operation.

I have never known the 12V socket to switch off, there have been many reported cases over the years of flat batteries caused by leaving phone chargers etc. left plugged in overnight.

You can get one of these to prevent the battery going flat.
