Filler cap release dosent work, any solutions?

Featured Replies

If i pull the lever up it pops out very slightly, but not enough, so i have to put my foot under it, reach round and then pick it open with my finger. I presume it just the spring that has gone, but before i take it apart, Has anyone else had this problem??

Look inside the boot on the right handside, pull the carpet back on the side and you will see the release mechanism underneath, mine did a similar thing after it popped out of the holder, just pull the cable to release it. and slip it back inside the holder

i had a similar issue yesterday after taking the rear lights out and bumper off. I had knocked that cable out of place and the bugger wouldn't shut. Spent half an hour messing about with it outside, did a quick search on here and found the solution. 30 seconds later it was sorted.

Thanks for the quick and positive replies! I will have a look at this tomorow

i hope you got it sorted, it's that easy a blind monkey could do it.

I got fed up with it popping out and just disconnected the cable. The flap holds closed on the sprung hinge and finger nails or a credit card open it.

i super glued my cable back in never happened again

that's exactly what i'd do over disconnecting it completely

Noticed mine had popped out again (ahem!) when I fitted the light yesterday. A Furby foible.

I found that slightly repositioning the cable made it sit in a lot more happily & not pop out again.. It's all about a nice easy cable run :)
