been reading this forum for a month or two and thought maybe i could contribute, so have joined. Am a member of the Oz skoda forum, but nobody uses it much, guess it hasnt been that long since the brand was reintroduced down here.

Anyway had a recall on my new fabia and went searching for any news on the turbo shim and recalib of ECU.

My monte has just racked up 2300KM and apart from the recall effects, i am loving it

I was reading a review of the Superb on a OZ car site this weekend, they said that Skoda's over there would possibly suffer from massive depreciation as it's an 'unknown brand' over there. Is that really the case? It's the opposite here usually although there are still some ignorant people that think Skoda's are rubbish.

Yes, although ' massive' is subjective of course. i was prepared to take the punt as i got a good deal on the car and a factory 5 year warranty, thrown in.the last skoda imported her were rubbish, showing my age now because it was loooong ago. At least they are made in Chech, unlike the Polo from Sth Africa...
