Anyone use Paypal a bit?

Featured Replies

Just wondered if anyone knows if they have changed their paying speed, i.e when you withdraw a balance. Usually it takes about 3 to 4 working days, but for the first time yesterday I had the amount withdrawn showing in my bank account online within 1 hour!

Just curious really. All for the better!

Use it, but don't take money out.

If I get money in it soon gets spent on other stuff. :D

I use it all the time, Internet business so best way to pay and spend now, never any issues

Use it occasionally, while they've been bumping your withdrawal speeds up, they've been randomly applying and removing payment restrictions to my account instead. Apparently "to keep people safe from me". Thankfully I don't sell much on eBay so I only use it for paying for things and never maintain a balance there.

They are now a 'member' of the Faster Payments Scheme.

I use it but normally the money is going the other way

I'd be surprised if they were giving up on 4 days interest without a fight.

They did change a few things. If you sell something and transfer the money to your bank account on the spot, they put a hold for 22 hours (don't ask me why is 22 hours?) and after that they credit your bank on the spot. However if you had money in your PayPal for a few days and going to transfer to your bank is almost instantaneously. This is much better than the old 3/4 days :)

i believe changes in the law dictate that transfers between nearly all banking organisations have to be near instant nowadays. i.e i transferred from halifax to natwest while recipient was on phone, instant confirmation or recieved monies

Marks & Spencer banking and credit cards aren't. I was nearly late because of this. I made it by the "skin of my teeth".

Yes credit cards and finance accounts are different but from likes of a current account it should be instant

It has certainly sped up of late, past couple of months probably.

Used to be 5-7 days, if you didn't pay them for the 'express' service! :wonder:

PayPal giving faster access to our own money - what ever next?!
