Was just curious, i have just got my own vag com cable, because i got charged by someone on saturday for ten minutes work!

It's interesting that you ask someone for help (probably someone you do not know) who has the knowledge, ability and hardware to help you out, yet you then got offended when then wanted something for their time?

TBH it's probably best that you bought your own cheap (limited function) cable so you don't get 'fleeced' again.

FWIW all I ask for is just 'a drink' which is then down to the person.... everyone to my knowledge has been grateful for my help (not to mention the knowledge of coding I have).

Climb off you high horse titheed!

I bought a genuine cable and i wasnt moaning was being curious as to what other people did, i never once said i was fleeced, or felt ripped off, or moaned about paying!

I merely asked a question, stop being a ****!

Easy Tiger!

You are coming across a little indignant.

I haven't charged anyone, if they want to give me something for my effort then fair enough.

Im not angry, just hate people on there high horse, assuming im having a go, and assuming i bought a cheap copy cable. Both wrong. The statement about a tenner in ten mins was meant it would be better for me to buy my owncable!

That is at least 1/4 of what the dealer would relieve you of though.

Also £10 is not much compared to the cost of buying full fat VCDS. I got my cable as between me, SWMBO and my dad we have 3 VAG cars.

Maybe calm down on the ! though.

So the comment:

Is meant to be read that you didn't mind the time and effort the person gave you and your were quite happy to give them something for their help? ..... doesn't sound that way to me!

MOST people will not get the VFM in buying their own interface, they can either then choose to go to a dealer or indi and pay in the region of £70 for a scan (dealer) or find someone local to them to get the scan and adaptations done.

I will now leave you to your playtime name calling antics and hope that i never need to resort to such behaviour.

For the record i am not complaining about beig charged for the time, effort and ability the guy had on saturday, i tool the decision to buy my own cavle so i can muck around with the settings myself without being charged everytime, jeez!

Some people dont assume the worst in people and just answer the question posted!

Fair enough, but using exclamation marks after the statements you make come across like you have a problem with what people had done.
