In the blurb ......no dsg = no maxidot.......I have studied the blurb very carefully as I was thinking about buying one

I'm not saying that it doesn't say that in the blurb. I'm just saying wait and see when it does come with maxidot.

It wouldn't be the first time Skoda documentation or marketing material doesn't match reality ;)

I'd be very surprised to see SatNav without MaxiDot.

Information about the blackline has been hard to come by until recently so nothing would suprise me. I've gone for DSG so I will definately get maxi-dot.

Maxi dot comes with sat nav, look in the fabia brochure and it says that amundsen comes with maxidot. I'm almost certain they won't fit sat nav without maxidot its part of the system used to give the commands.

I hope so. But as above, the brochure definitely states otherwise. Does the Maxidot rely on the MFSW?

We'll have to wait and see.

Nope, you can't get MFSW on a manual, but you can get maxidot.

its always been missing in the brochures before that maxi dot was included with satnav. Ive even questioned it with salesmen before and they didnt know as it wasnt written in the brochures but usually satnav = maxidot as well.

I must admit not fussed about Maxi Dot, what does it add besides looking better?

Only thing I really wanted but could not at was BT, now if that came as part of the SatNav FOC I would be happy.

Interesting. Thanks for the info.

you can change settings in the menus that youd otherwise have to go to the dealer to change via their computer (unless you have vag-com)

What he said. It's very handy! :)

For example?

Let's put it this way, I don't know a single person who's got it who doesn't like having it. It's standard on some models, so it's not just a statement because those who wanted it specced it as an option.

+1 I wouldn't have another octavia without it much better than the 'normal' trip computer

should be standard on cars equipped with xenons too IMO as from what I remember the only way to alter them for continental driving is via the maxidot or a cost visit to the dealer computer every time your go abroad!
