In fairness looking back I took their poor customer service and inability to deal with customer complaints (if the customer was right or wrong) to heart when I have never personally dealt with them. For that apologies. It still sucked and I expected better from a VAG tuner, but hey.

James BS even phoned me with a offer. But I turned it down.

Besides, plenty of other crap tuners out there also all over forums so one of many :)

  • I'm sure he'll take that as some constructive criticism.

  • Jabbasport but then I am a tad biased lol ;-)

  • I have used all 3 in all fairness the service you will recieve from any of the guys in the poll will be excellent, they are all up there as the best in the buisness in my opinion

Unit 18 for me too, like Matt, I've had nothing but good experiences with Ali and the team.

a handful of seriously high power fabias have come out of there too, such as luke's (xaosx)

Another vote for Jabbasport.

Can only say I've been impressed with what they've done for me.

My previous Fabia VRS is still the fastest UK Fabia down the 1/4 mile on Briskoda. Even the mkII boys have not caught up yet. :D

As it seem P-Torque are getting a bit of stick I'll recomend them in an instant - Speak to Will and you'll get great service - very knowledgeable and eager to help -

Had 3 remaps from him (including Hybrid on Fabia)and couldn't be happier

Probably not as big as the others mentioned here, and as I've not used tham I wont compare, but don't write P-Torque off as they are deffinately specialists and not cowboys.

I've looked at P-Torque and they are competative price wise, especially given they include RR if i'm not mistaken?!?

I think i'm going to call Unit 18 myself as I think Milton Keynes is more accessable than the rest... and i can drop the car off and go to the "fridge" for a quick snowboard session!

Any discounts there for Freedome members like Shark Performance?!? (ideally looking for custom map as got filter & PD160 to go on ready)

Give Ali a ring, he'll do you a deal no doubt!

Whats the ebay resistor mod thats in your sig dude?

Awesome GTi in Manchester - M44 5AH :D

My Bad!

We offer an Awesome Remap that is 'off the shelf' for £150.00 inc VAT (normally £200.00)

Hope this helps!

Awesome Mike

We offer forum members the price of £265.00 all in for our stage 1 remap on the 130PD's. At the same time, we refuse to start prices wars, as there is a massive difference in the quality of mapping.Due to time restrictions, I have struggled to be as active on Briskoda as I would have liked.Alot of forum votes depend on which tuner or company is most active on that particular forum. The VAG group for example shares the same engines and ECU's across the group, however different forums (VW, Audi, Skoda, Seat) will have companies that post more than others etc.

Yeah I wont be swayed by the number of posts so no worries there! (more inclined to choose a reputable mapper who is close to other services i will need at the same time as you are all so far away!) No asking to start a price war, but as I am looking for a custom remap (which are a lot more expensive!!) was just asking the question about possible discount on a custom map rather than a discount on a generic map like Shark do for Freedom members that was all.

What modifications have you made to your Fabia so far?

At the mo just a k'and'n panel filter and pd160 sat waiting to go on and fmic group buy to conclude, but may wait for that to go on once a new turbo has been purchased unless would make a decent difference with it added?!?

@P-Torque: I shall be in contact in the near future. As soon as I have some money, I shall book my standard pd130 in for stage 1 mapping :)

@jars: I'm doing what you recommended and moving to Bristol. Start my new job on Monday :D

Did I really?!? Only messin, love Bristol, just miles away from all the forum sponsors!

I supported you once, and mentioned in the spotted section I wanted to move there and you recommended :p. I have family not too far from wolverhampton, so remap will probably be an "I was in the area" job :p

Yeah i remember dude

Don't remember seeing many Fabia vRS members from Bristol (although may get told otherwise!)

I thought that but you never no as some people do buy them!!

I actually drive past JabbaSport to go to Shark. Why? Because every time I go there they promise to sort out whatever it is I wanted and then they never phone me back. Indeed, try getting anyone to come to the phone!

Warranty cover on my Koni shocks? Finally sorted out by another company.

EGR delete? Never called me back.

Big brakes? Never called me back.

DPF delete on my TT? Never called me back.

I've also used Awesome for stuff in the past and they're also great if you want something from their catalogue. If it's in any way unusual, the salesmen on the front desk won't touch it.

Fit some second hand gauges in a TT? Nope. Awesome weren't interested.

Unit 18 use Richard Washbrook for their custom remaps and they're excellent. But I didn't go there for my remap because I like Ben Wardle at Shark. The guy just oozes credibility. And his workshop team will tell you straight - "we've not done that, but if you'll bear with us while we work it out, we can do it". And they do. Time after time Shark have done whatever I've asked of them.

Everyone has reasons for picking their remapper. I very much doubt you'd regret using Shark or Unit 18. If you needed after sales then I'd be VERY wary of using JabbaSport. They just don't phone you back.

But depends why they pick the tuner....

I would rather have a tuner that is abit slack on the e-mail replies, or phone calls. But does a good job to the car.

Than one that is more than happy to ring you back etc etc but then doesnt deliver the goods!

Would like to state that isnt aimed at any specific company on either example.

I did say that I would be wary of using JabbaSport if I needed after sales support. You may not need it. But if you do, better be with someone who picks up the phone.

I think all the big companies have very well developed maps for the PD130 with and without hybrids, intercooler, water/methanol etc. you'd be hard-pressed to find any of them that couldn't get a map on the car and make it work. 7 years ago that was very different!

I dont know, I know a few tuners that on different forums would get top marks for tuning derv wagons but cant even find standard maps ;)

End of the day, if you have had a good experience then woohoo! We all want that. But if your like me (a forum whore that knows too many people) its scary what I hear about some tuners tbh :/
