Hi my loved Skoda octavia 2004 diesel leaves a lot of smoke behind when I put my foot down but in normal driving it's ok had the oil and filter changed 3000 miles ago but it still carried on smoking when I give it a bit of stick can any one please help thanks

You'll probably get a better response to a tech problem from the relevant model forum. On the generality, black smoke is caused by over-fuelling so:-

1) How long has the current air filter been in? 4 years is way too long.

2) Has the car been remapped? Some maps are known to be smokey.

3) What sort of revs is it smoking at? In standard tunes I'd only expect black smoke from full throttle off-boost, say below 1_500rpm.
