I drove my Octavia Tdi estate with a motorbike on a trailer to Sweden in August (because Mr DFDS wanted £1,350 to take us to Ebsjerg by ferry). On the way out we refuelled in Belgium (included some pretrip usage) and mpg worked out at 62.26. On the way back from Sweden we did the same and consumption worked out at 62.29. How's that for consistency!

Most of each journey was at 60 - 70 mph on motorways. If you are making the trip it is cheaper to get a ferry from Travemunde than to use the Puttgarden ferry and bridge tolls (about the same cost but 10 hour ferry trip against driving and fuel consumption through Denmark).
