what diesel - which is best?

Featured Replies

on mine it get higher idle speed, start stop not active

also seen the instantaneous milage drop, did it yesterday on m25 near clackets until a22/j6

most people think it hasn't done it as there is little if any difference in the cars performance, it hides it well

also if you do a fair bit of dual carraigeway / motorway work it is enough for passive regen to take place most of the time

I agree with Bluecar1, usually the car idles at around 700 rpm when hot and at a standstill. During an active regen this rises to about 1000 rpm when hot. When I notice this I just keep the car running at a higher RPM until the idle returns to normal and make sure I don't turn off the engine whilst its doing a regen. When cold in the winter it would idle at 1K on starting.I have noticed only one active regen in my Yeti at about 400 miles from new, at 1.2K miles on the clock now in my 2.0 170.My last car was a VAG 1.6 CR TDi 105 (never had the DPF light on in 2 years 1nd nearly 17K miles) which seemed to do a lot more active regens (approx 150 - 200 miles between them), oddly when it did, it used to start one just after a 20 mile trip along the motorway, I can only assume it did more beacause it had to work harder at mway speeds than the 2.0, also the bigger engine seems to warm up a bit quicker. May just be me though.
