Rear Parking Sensors 'How To' Request...

Featured Replies

Dont suppose someone can post me a 'how to' for the rear parking sensors on the Fabia vRS, im aware that someone on here has just fitted them so some instructions/pics would be appreciated

If you get the kit they come with full fitting instructions, easy to do.

I believe you have to ignore the fact that my dealer said it's impossible to fit them to a Fabia vRS owing to the rear bumper construction - however that potentially means they're more awkward to fit than an "ordinary" fabia.

I have a generic set I won in a raffle which I wanted fitting - pity the dealer wouldn't oblige...

Ahh true enough that the skirt takes the place of the black plastic strip which may hinder the accesssory kit.

Cobra do a top notch aftermarket kit, thats what id use personally.

Cant remember who but someone has just fitted them to his Furby

Yep it was me and Superted. I had them fitted to mine at the dealer (I supplied the kit) and then helped Superted fit them to his SWMBO's motor and I've got a kit waiting to go into my SWMBO's motor.

I've got the pics but I'm not home right now. The included instructions will help you with the wiring. You'll need a 22mm hole saw (Good quality not one of those crappy spring steel ones.) for the holes in the bumper, plenty of cable ties and some patience. You'll need some masking tape for the bumper.

There are three sensors in the kit, the centre one under the Skoda badge and the other two either side as per the instructions. The loud speaker goes in the B pillar behind the trim - there's a bit of a knack to getting it off.

To remove the bumper there are 4, I think, screws in each wheel arch, two underneath the bumper and two under the rear lights - Yes you have to remove the rear lights.

If you refer back to the for sale thread you will see I posted some pics before you bought the kit.

The kit is really good quality and has all the wires and connections you need including a nice watertight grommett for the cables. Makr sure you use the bonding agent iin the kit before sticking anything on.

Drop me a line if you need more info.

If your in the Portsmouth area I'd gladly help you out.

Remember to drill a pilot hole before you fire the hole saw through. Measure twice.

You'll want someone to help you off with the bumper and to hold it while you drill it.

If you're really $hitting it ask your dealer - mine quoted an hour, although I'm not sure you could do it in an hour.
