Mad about my revo re-map HELP.

   :(

05 octavia vrs.

induction kit (not oiled).

powerflow full stainless.

PLEASE PLEASE can anyone help,

I'll try to be brief.

Had my car remapped today,

I was an idiot and installed my dump valve (bailey DV30) wrong way up.

They sorted it

No damage caused to ecu luckily,

Road test blew the intercooler pipe off,

They repaired (jubilee clip loose),

took to rolling road for read out.

Drove well bags off power torque etc

Rolling road said it was 2 BHP more than standard but with more torque 178 ft/lb (thats it). i was hoping for 200 odd.

figures from the fly wheel.

Took remap off by the hand held gadget ss3? and re ran to check rollers were working correctly and all ok.

The remap guy said run it for a bit as it takes 72 hours for full effect?

and let me know,

I still had to pay

I take it you are in Kent. Where did you have it done.

I find it hard to understand why it would take 72 hours!! Mine (not revo) worked straight away, and yours should too i'm sure.

I had it done at southern speed shack in dover and SVA imports did the rolling road in folkstone road dover

Revo should be fully functional after a couple of hours { i was told}.

Mine felt quicker straight away, throttle response was the first thing i noticed, the car pulled a lot stronger and would spin the wheels in 2nd and 3rd without trying.

Did you have 4bar map? Mine showed 219bhp and 218 torque, 4bar fpr and Forge 007 DV- standard air filter etc.

Fuel pressure regulator- allows more fuel to be pumped in.Gives a bit more power than the standard 3bar one.

Does the car feel any better than standard? If not then go back and get them to sort it, do a search on here for Revo and see what others have had to say, 4 bar included.

You can feel it straight away. It does pull stronger after a few hours for sure but you will feel straight away it for sure. not sure on the power output but it is a lot quicker than before. funnily enough makes it`s easier to drive so much torque, you can leave it in sixth and cruise along, and when needed boot it without need to change down.

Assuming you have a sixth gear :D .

My 2p of worldly wisdom for ya :)

Put the rolling road figures to one side for a mo...

Tomorrow, plug in the sps3 to recommended settings (cupra.net is probably the best resource for this, check out what the cupra 180 boys run), choose your favourite fast B road and have a spirited drive for five to ten minutes. Get a good feel for how the car pulls from a standing start and from 40-60 etc.

Then pull over to a layby or a quiet side road (if you smoke then now would be a good time for a crafty fag). With the sps3 put the car back to standard and try a repeat of the same spirited drive. If you can't feel a difference (and with the revo you WILL feel a difference) then something's not right and you should go back to the REVO agent and have a chat.

I still miss my REVO map a bit due to the fact that the power and torque used to peak really early providing a wicked shove in the back to about 4500rpm. Didn't look pretty on the RR but on reflection it was an interesting map on a standard car (mine was done by forge after 1000 miles running in and completely standard apart from an 007p and a k&n drop in filter)

I really hope this helps you a little bit, compare how it drives and then make a judgement :)

(ps. @Cupra_power we poor ploda owners only have five gears as standard ;) )
