Skoda Assist

Featured Replies

Hi everyone, I just wanted to just share the excellent experience i've had with Skoda assist. My 2011 Fabia vRS developed a misfire yesterday afternoon, engine management flashing at me then EPC mode. I left it until today to ring them, which i did at 11.20am. They said the tech would arrive between now and 2.30pm. Within 5 mins the tech rang to say he would be 40mins. 12.00pm on the dot he arrived. Within 10 mins he had diagnosed the fault, which was a knackered ignition coil on cyl 1, replaced the offending item and got me back up and running. He was very knowledgable and talked me through everything he was doing. I thought it would just be the old AA/RAC of 'i'll have to tow you to the nearest garage' line but no, he got it sorted and had the parts on his van. All in all very impressed. Now im off for a little spin.

Excellent news, hopefully I will never need them!!

Regards all

I've used them a couple of times and only had good experiences with them

Skoda Assist are RAC ;) they just happen to have a big contract with VW and carry spares on board...

They also have specialist trained VAG technicians in silver vans... I know this after 3 call outs in a 24 hour period ;) 2 x coil packs and 1 x missing spark plug tip and my car vanishing for nearly 2 1/2 weeks...

Yeah he was a VAG tech in a silver van

Ive used them once and no problem at all very reliable and knowledgeable. The guy i had turned up in a silver van spent about 1 hour with me an offered to update the ECU as he stated it was showing as having a new software update. I declined as i was going into the main dealer for a service later that week. When i explained to the dealer it required a new software update he said he would have a look at its service. When collected no update was required. Strange......

I bought a used Skoda that has 1 year of manufacturer warranty left, does it mean i have skoda assist or is this an aftersales purchase?

You should have Skoda Assist for the same period of time that the Skoda Warranty lasts.

Happy days.

3 years or 60,000 miles which one comes first from new does not matter how many owners just gets passed on. If you buy a used skoda over 3 years old from a skoda dealer you still get a 1 year warranty

I too had good experience. Had a tyre 'incident' which meant I had to contact them after I got off the train at Calais, having gone thru the tunnel.Couldn't get the ###### wheel off! Very nice lady took details and told me someone would be with me in about 45 mins. 40 mins later a low loader appeared in the hotel car park. Job done; well impressed.
