Can anyone help with fault code 005697 please & Temp gauge question.

Featured Replies

Unless i'm having a blonde moment I cant find a couple of fault codes on rosstech wiki http://wiki.ross-tec...=01271#mw-pages

Car is a 2007 1.9 tdi PD105.

One of the codes is easy enough to work out (glow plugs) but it's not listed in the wiki so might help someone in the future but it is obvious

Can anyone offer any help on what the problem might be or how to fix the aircon memory. Does it need a re-set? TBH I have another code relating to the aircon so I think it will need a new compressor anyway.

Many thanks

Reset the code and see if it comes back.

If it comes back you may have a faulty climatronic unit.

Thanks. Already cleared the codes and I will re-scan after ive driven it a bit more.

Edited to add: The codes come back. Cleared them again and they have returned for a 2nd time.

Temp gauge on a 400 mile return trip to London - The temp gauge was at 50 (the bottom of the dial) on the motorway and only at max 60 (1/4 way) in central London gridlock.

Also noticed yesterday that the temp gauge seems to rise to half way then drop to about quarter way then rise again to half but slowly. It seems to take a long time to get to half way too. Is this normal on a 1.9 PD105? Every previous Skoda ive had the temp rises pretty quickly (winthin 5 mins for example) and stays bang on half way no matter how long its been running including do hundreds of miles at a time.

My 1.9 rises quick takes around 5 minutes normally maybe up to ten in the cold mornings but it stays in the middle and never moves.

Had the trader I bought it the car from look in to this (3 month warranty). I havent got the car back yet and hes had it over a week.

The latest update is the aircon pump was over pressured and the ecu turned all the fans on as in safety mode to cool everything down. That has apparantley been sorted. But he said he did a 20 mile test drive and the temp gauge went up to 90 (which I think is central) and dropped back down to 70.

I've had 6 Skoda's and a few VW's and every single one of them, diesel or petrol, has done exactley the same thing. The temp gauge has risen to 90 and then stayed exactley at that temp no matter what kind of driving (track day) or even the length of the journey (6 hours plus).

Has anyone any experience of their temp gauage doing anything different then staying dead centre?

Is this an issue to be concerned about?

It just doesnt seem right to me. The car seems to drive ok so no issues with how it drives (well apart from I think the mpg should be better. Averaging 41mpg on a 1.9PD105).

Got the car back Saturday after the trader said they checked everything including the aircon system.

On the way home the car did exactley the same thing. I've cleared the codes so as soon as I have time I will go for a drive and see if any codes come back.

Temp gauage did move up to about a 1/4 way. I put the heater on to check if it was hot or cold air and it was hot. When the heater was on pretty quickly (within 2-3 mins) the temp gauage dropped back down to the bottom of the gauge.

I think I will change the temp sensor anyway and see if that makes any difference.
