7 seater VW Touran with subtle mods

Featured Replies

Ok, so time to write my advert for my Touran

We bought it from Camerons VW just over 2 years ago now. But our situation changed almost as soon as we bought it and its a little big for what we need.

So here it is:

Full VW service history upto 94,000 miles (when we bought it) History from then until now is with a local garage & I can provide a print out of everything thats been done to it - along with receipts for parts fitted too.

Mk5 GTi front brakes (312mm)

Just replaced the old coilover with new FK's not 2 weeks ago

18" VW Phateon Champion alloys with Falkens all round (fronts were new in April, I swopped them to the back and put another new pair on when the new suspension went on)

Headlight protectors fitted - along with 2008 spec tail lights (these will fail an MOT by themselves as no reflectors)

Heko wind deflectors

Debadge grill is available too - but its currently back to the original grill with a black VW badge

Performance air filter fitted to the air box and ducting all removed

Remapped by Angel Tuning upto about 140bhp (105 as std)

Pioneer Double din - Blue tooth and ipod kit fitted.

(I still have all the std parts for the car also)

You could either have it as it sits - or I can put everything back to std.

I also have a full Jap-spec setup for the front bumper strip and the rearplate too

Now for the price - this is a tough one. Its now on 115K (this will increase daily as its our main car at the moment), which is nothing for these engines as you will know. Its been a great car, just no longer required. Its recently had a lot of work done to it in, new front wishbone bushes and mounts, new radiator fan pack, new suspension, new tyres. MOT is due at the beginning of november & I see no issues with it passing lots more of them. The bodywork has a couple of scratches on the a pillar on the drivers side as a couple of winters ago the wipers acted up meaning a full new wiper linkage and 2 new motors fitted by Camerons VW. If its ever needed anything then its been done - no expense spared.

These rarely come up for sale privately (there are only 20 for sale in the UK just now) and none of them have the mods of this one - especially the Phateon rims!

So £4750ono as it sits and i'll get a new MOT put on it too

or I take all the parts off it & it goes for £4000 totally std.

The vehicle is availabel to view in Crieff from now - but wont actually be available to purchase/collect until after the 7th October (wedding in Reading to go to)

If you want to call me and ask me about the car please do so - 07904195857

Assume 1.9tdi PD105? (originally) :giggle:

Any interior wear and tear? Any interior pics?

5 or 6 speed box?

  • Author

Yep - its a PD105 6 speed - I can get interior pics no problem - there are a few scuffs on the plastic in the boot (previous owner had a dog and dog guards) but there are no rips or tears in the seats and we are non-smokers also.

Could just do with a Vax on the seats, just down to the kids etc

I dont have any further pics of the interior at the moment, but its easy enough to go and get some for you tomorrow morning?

Just to confirm you said it's a 6spd box? Thought all the PD105s ran a 5.

Have a guy at work who might be interested in this - might be a bit too 'tweaked' for him though :)

Yes its a 6 speed box. All the touran diesels are 6 speed on this age. they only lost their 6th gear with the newer 1.6 TDi

If its took weaked for him then I can put it all back to std in a weekend and take less £££ money for him no problem - I have all they original parts still. I know i'm in Scotland, but there is a train station in Perth and i'm happy to come and collect people from there?

What is the original trim level? Guessing S rather than SE as no front fogs.

AC?

Leccy windows?

Lots of questions in order to attempt to 'sell it' to SWMBO :giggle:

Sure - its got a/c - and damn it works well - even the glovebox is airconditioned - keeps the cans of juice cold!. Electric windows on the front - keepfit ones in the back

Yes its an S. All the seats work - we have found it great having the seats fold flat in the boot - i've even fitted a whole Polo front end (inc subframe, engine & gearbox in there on a pallet - its huge!)

  • Author

Forgot to mention its the Black Pearlescent paint too & the roof rails are std fitment

:( SWMBO likes the car but doesn't like the age and mileage.

If it sells as standard, I'll take first refusal on the mods

  • Author

You wont find one the same spec for similar mony - if the age and the mileage is putting her off - it has a full service history with no expense spared. Timing belt and water pump was done at 86K & its one of the very first ones so no DPF issues. And its very cheap compared to other ones available - only reason is that i've put a deposit on a new car already. So it has to go!

I hear you chap. If it was solely my decision i'd be on the train.

With SWMBO being the main driver she wants the reassurance of lower mileage = reliabilty. I know, I know. :(

  • Author

Lower mileage doesn't guarantee more reliability! You know that! Maybe on older cars. But not on a vw! They just loosen up with age

This car will be being changed back to std on the 8th October. After that date offers can be made depending on spec! :)

will the mods be for sale? in particular the wheels B)

  • Author

There is no such thing as "not for sale" - depends on the £££

LOL

A very nicely modded touran

However, I think you'd do better selling the mod's seperately and listing it more or less standard on Ebay. The potential market for a simple to insure (i.e standard), practical, economical Touran is decent (the most direct competition being a zafira - which is shocking)

The potential market for a modded people carrier is much smaller unfortunately, but yours looks a very nice one

I'm guessing the phaeton alloys are 18x8 5x112? - what's the offset and do you think big brakes would fit behind them?

Cheers, and best of luck whatever you decide to do :)

  • 1 year later...

What is the tire size?? 215/40 or 225/40?? Thx

Hasn't this been for sale for ages? Or maybe you where thinking of selling?

G

The advert is from over a year ago!

But mmmmmm, Phaeton Champions...

To be fair, the ad's not been updated or locked as sold - so always worth an ask :)

Wheels do look great!
