New car bug, again

Featured Replies

Hi folks,

Changed my 56 plate PD vRS for a new Honda CR-V last summer and never realised how bored I was until I noticed the new Blackline. Then I started building my own and came across the red stitching on the alcantara option and that got my cogs working.

Not sure how it will work though trading in a car worth say £18k against a VAT free vRS coming in around the same price. Has anyone encountered anything similar in the past?

Also, if I do take the plunge, I will probably go for the TSi DSG over the diesel. My wife has a Furby vRS and the engine is addictive with that gearbox. What MPG are you guys getting with your TSi's? Is 35 combined achievable driving carefully with the odd blast or is that figure pie in the sky?

On a spirited run to Conway (North Wales) from Harrogate yesterday I was seeing 38+ MPG from my TSi FL Vrs with DSG, If I'd have slowed down a bit I should think I could get into the mid 40's, around town I get about 25/26

I do a short commute (about 11 miles each way) every day, quite quickly (usually late) and still avg about 29-32mpg, on a run I can get 40 mpg easily enough, good on fuel for a petrol with the performance it has TBH

Shame it's not later in the year, you'd get a better trade in if it was snowing.

You'll need the CR-V to pull the vRS off the forecourt though :giggle:

Same exactly for mine. Great MPG for such a petrol unit.
