3 Years on: My Fab + Question on wheel spacers and stance!

Featured Replies

After a loving weekend on the fabia polishing, waxing and general maintance (about 10 hours in total) i thought I'd post a few pics. Fallen in love with her again, was Mmmminng and Arrring about changing, always wanted a vtec, thinking about a DC5 but with petrol prices and moving in with the wifey im gonna keep her. Still only on 60k, which is really nothing for these cars.

Only problem is; Im really wanting a better stance. Needing spacers all around and unsure of what sizes to get, its the standard brake set up with the standard wheels.Think the back needs to be maybe a tiny bit lower too? Path into the unknown for me though, as the back is already all the way down (KW V1 Coilovers), so would have to remove the adjuster cups. Safe to do so? Just gets into mutlistories as it is!

Anyway here are some pics; chance for a bit of a show off :giggle:

Looking fresh! Spacers I'd use 5 or 10 mm up front and 15 or 20mm on the back.

Lovely car mate, are you in mk?

I'd say don't mess any more. Looks great!

Peronally I think the car looks awesome as it is  Have you ever tried removing the rear adjusters? I have tried it and the ride was awful.

Bit off topic, but do you know what tint your rear windows have?

Looks fabialous... Really nice buddy and nice to see one mod'd without bloody 17" spiders..

Thanks for the comments guys, i think the tint is 35% one just before limo. Kinda put off removing the adjuster cups now, guess thats a good thing. Spacers defo though! Would really like to try the sizes before buying. Na im not from milton, from east anglia, but always go to ali at unit 18, service has always been top notch so far

Iv never had adjuster cups in mine with the kw's. No issues, ride didn't feel any different compared to my mates with the cups in. He removed his a while after too and hasn't said anything. My ride hight is perfect for me now, sits nice & level too.

When i ran spacers, i ran 20mm at the rear, and 15mm at the front.

Although after fitting the 15mm on the front, then wheel bearing went within 2 months, however the car was very high mileage.

But if i were to do it again i'd stick to 10mm front, on standard vRS 16's.

You could try the Ibiza Cupra bump stops on the rear? Theyre smaller...

I'm on KW V1's also, it's pretty poor how low they go on the rear :p

Mate leave it as it is, looks perfect =]

Looks absolutely stunning! I think it does need spacers though. I will be going for 15mm on rear and 10mm on front :)

Kiddy1, have you got the ibiza bump stops on yours? Anymore information on these abd how much more they lower the car by?

I've got some on mine. They don't lower the car. They are shorter than the Fabia ones by about 7cm (half the size) just means you get more travel without contact with the bumpstop :)
