95k fabia with 2 prev owners 05 reg - too high mileage for turbo?

Featured Replies

Is this too much mileage for the turbo or can you they generally last much longer?

No idea really to know how hard its been driven but i would remap it, is it a ticking timebomb?

I wont be driving it hard all the time.

ajs_vrs,

i bought my 06 vrs in feb 2012 with 114k on the speedo and i havent had a problem, (touch wood) but i did change timing belt, tensioners and water pump as pre-caution, mine pulls in all gears, now on 124k and on good run @ 70mph got 67mpg, i'm happy with performance and economy, i do 60 miles a day back and for to work, mainly motorway miles. i did have to clean out egr valve due to build up of oil sludge, didnt like the look of it at the time. im thinking of remapping mine too. need to know of good company with good backup if needed.

sounds like the higher milage cars are doing fine, that sounds like you lot maintain the beasts you own regularly, can i ask how many miles between oil change to you go for. would you say 10k is ample or less, the oil changes are quite easy to do on the fabia. i collect the bits as soon as i complete the change. i have thought about remapping my car, what sort of cost is a good one, any help is appreciated.

176k here with 15k oil changes :)

'06 plate, nearly 80k. Serviced every 10k, running 189bhp with no worries on standard turbo and intercooler.
