xenon problem

Featured Replies

Started the car this morning and noticed that my lights did't auto set and the beam was pointing down in safe mode. Does anyone know of any commen faults or what it could be? I've checked fuse and thats ok so dont know what to look at next. The lights are OEM not after market. Thanks.

Sounds to me like one of the self levelling sensors is faulty.

These are located underneath the car just behind the passenger side front wheel and just infront of the rear passenger side wheel.

They are pretty flimsy so a deep puddle or a chunk of road debris will be enough to snap or pull off the linkage and default the headlights into safe mode.

Are they on the bottom arm? A box with a little rod coming from it?

Yep, that's it. There are two, one at the front and one at the back.

Thanks sorted it. It was a broken rod on the front. Neighbours thought i was mad rolling about on the floor in the dark!

Result, the front one isn't in the best location to shield it from potential damage.

Did you fix it or will it need replacing?

I've noticed mine don't do the levelling dance, up, down and side to side every time I put my lights on. Is this normal?

Only does it when you start the car not every time you switch the lights on.

Try starting the car with the lights on to see it.

Nice work Will. Did you fix it or do you need a replacement part?

Anytime you need a scan just pop round.
