BMW wheels and winter tyres on Octavia?

Featured Replies

Seeing as i know nothing about wheel offsets and the like does anyone know if my steel wheels with winter run flat tyres will fit my octy vrs? BMW winter wheels are 205/16/55. The hole cetres and hub size presumably need to match also. Any ideas??

Currently trying to sell them on gumtree but id keep them if they fitted. Its not just the fitting that matters as i could try that myself but would they be safe? Im not sure what would contribute to them not being safe hence the thread.

If they dont fit safley is anyone wanting some BMW winter wheels and tyres :)

Came off a 58 plate 320d by the way.

BMW wheels will be wrong pcd.

Thanks for that. Good website. They wont fit though. Dam. Thought it was a long shot.

Might see how bad the FWD octy is compared to RWD BMW. I might not need winter tyres. The beemer was tragic on summer tyres. Got stuck in a level car park needless to say you get no sympathy when stuck in the snow in a BMW. Unless i have misunderstood their hand gestures :)

Sorry but arent the tyres 205/55/16 - the wheels are 6J or 7J etc.

Isnt your option to use the winter tyres on the Octavia standard rims and ditch the BMW rims. I believe 205/55/16 is a standard winter tyre on the Octavia.

Or is this one more example of my misunderstanding of the hazy world of tyres and wheels?

depending on the wheel offset, you could get away with adaptors to convert the 5x120 bmw fitment to 5x112 on the Octy but it will depend, the offset should be stamped inside the bmw wheels marked as ET

Good thinking that never occured to me. Yea think i will look for cheap steel wheels that fit the octy and swap the tyres. Nice one. The tyres are virtually brand new so i would get several years service fro them. Dont suppose it really matters that they are run flats does it?
