Anyone got pics of a furby vRS with Octavia vRS alloys on!!!

Featured Replies

Was just wondering what the 17" wheels off the octavia would look like on my fabia, so has anyone done this or got any photos of a furby running these wheels. Would love to see the result!!

cheers for that walkie, look smart!! How much are you talking for the tyres, i take it they are a lower profile than the octavia would run?? Also what are the brake your running??

Tyres 205/40 R17 try mytyres.co.uk and blackcircles.co.uk for good prices...

Running Octavia vRS brakes aswell lol :)

How do i upload a pic? I lowered your car in the first image on paint walkie:)

Go into the go advanced bit under the post quick reply box.

Here's mine with the Octavia vRS Estate Alloys on (16"), they are smaller than walkie's, noticably IMO side by side but again IMO look almost as good and it means you dont have to spend money on new tyres, and you know how the car will handle/feel afterwards since you are not changing the diameter etc of the tyre/alloy (I cant comment if it's better/worse with 17" alloys).

Needs lowering something cronic now :D

It looks spot on when lowerd ;) and handles even better :D Piccies next weekend :)

p.s nice piccies

Then what? Attach?

Then what? Attach?

'Manage attachments' in the 'Go Advanced' option

Ok, I got there. However, I'm doin it on paint, so the file is huge. What should I convert it to to make it 8 times smaller?

There...I lowered your car Walkie...now you know what it should look like:)

I thought the tyres for the standard 17 inch octi wheels were cheaper than the ones for the fabia as they are not as rare?!

^^

 Good question, my point was if you were referring to my comment about keeping the 16" alloys was that I didnt need a new set of tyres, and as such I could just switch straight over to the new alloys and use the existing tyres from the origonal set.

sounds very sensible, i want the octi alloys but dont know whether to get the 16" or 17"!?

plan is to get rid of my standard vrs ones and get the octis...

Does it handle better on the 16's?

I want to keep the perfornance at its best as i will lower with ebach and revo this summer, also gonna do the brakes to 312mm after i have got the wheels sorted...

Any views/experiences, also what is the going rate for the standard vrs? bout 300 in good condition. (To sell) i have seen that 17" ooctis trade for between 300-350, what about the 16's?

thanks

I personally got my Octavia's for

That sounds about right, and similar to my thinking... octy 16", ebach springs (First by themselves to see how they handle, front strut brace.

Thats very cheap for 16" octi alloys especially with tyres, I also agree that its good, as I already have the tyres so only need the alloys I supposes the tyres would only be a bonus. Do you know where I can get some from or is it just a case of watching for sale/wanted. I also want to get rid of my standard VRS alloys in that case (front left slightly scuffed others all perfect, but obviously not till I have the octi wheels but Ill post when relevant... Pm if interested but willing to wait till i get mine, I suppose i'll sell them for whatever i get my octi 16's for plus balancing, etc...

Cheers hellfire. :D

I sold my standard vRS alloys with the Octavia vRS tyres that I bought origonally  for

TBH I feel it handles better on 17's not to mention asthetics, fills the arches better...

With my Eibach's and the standard dampers the handling is spot on for me, I dont know why people say its too harsh, it feels almost the same until you throw it into a corner

Some people may disagree, but honestly the traction is a lot better with the 17's never had wheel spin in 2nd in the dry when just slapping my foot down, and now lowerd its that little bit better ;)

Everyone has different opinions but I dont think the car looks suited to 16's, whether they be Octy vRS 16's or the standard 16's

As for performance and the so called lost 0-60 with larger wheels... Maybe true maybe wrong, but how many people go to Santa Pod every weekend to try and squeeze the best 0-60 time out of the Furb? I dont and I dont care, I doubt there's any real difference in 0-60 if any with the Octy 17's, and as previously said since the Octy 17's have been on I have had better traction - fact.

By no means is this a dig at anyone or their opinions, just my opinion :)

I don't know what to do!!!

I like the look of the 17's better, but need the tyres too, cant afford to fork out for tyres seperately. Im gonna try to get the 17's... if anyone knows of any going with tyres please let me know... also gonna sell my standard 16's as soon as I've found some 17's, gonna go post in the forum now. Don't want to get dampers aswell as ebachs so im just gonna go for the 17's and ebachs which i think will be a nice compromise thanks for everyones opinions on this but your both right its just down to the individual at thge end of the day.

How much were you r17's walkie and did you get tyres with them too?

I sold my Fabia vRS alloys for 350.00 (with thanks to Hellfire) Bought my Octy ones for 300.00, tyres were 200ish I think lol so 150ish got me the Octy 17's with the right tyres for a correct speedo and almost the same rolling radius...

Where abouts are you btw? PM me if you want

@ Hellfire

The Fabia vRS was originally designed to be on 17inch wheels and be 25 mm lower, so I have been reliably informed. It had smaller wheels and higher ride height because it need to work well on Czech roads, and Skoda couldn't justify the cost of different suspension setups.

Also the speedo won't be out if you get the correct tyre sizes, i.e. lower profile on the 17s.
