Featured Replies

Im thinking about getting a vortex exhaust custom system, has any body heard of them or got one for the VRS???

Yes I think its apmaman that's got one on his, search for it in the fabia II projects

Oops I thought u meant verex lol don't know anyone with the vortex

Double post

Are you asking about a Company that is called 'Vortex Exhausts', or that make a Vortex Exhaust?

The Vortex Exhaust for Land Rovers a few years ago were rubbish, & the Company advertising the

super dooper 'Vortex' Exhaust System were really trying to get Distributors i believe.

The System they were promoting was near impossible to get other than from Australia as i seem to remember,

a Google will confirm, when i get a chance.

What you mean is possibly something totally different.

? Any links to what you are looking at?

george

EDIT, is this what you are looking at?

Yeah that's the one,do you know any one who's had one, they claim massive gains in power?

They do not do them for 1.4 tsi Twin Chargers do they.?

I would take it with a pinch of salt.

A Main Vehicle Manufacturer would have bought the Patents & be using the Design/concept if it did what they say it does.

Bl00dy expensive for what they are advertising. JMO.

I've spoke to one of there dealers and they've quoted me £500 for a custom cat back system and the vortex with it,not to bad!

They quote a 60 BHP increase for a 180 BHP Audi TT

I must dash out and buy one for SWMBOs car!

You can't get that much of an increase with a remap, so they must be good :giggle:

I believe they mentioned a vortex exhaust on the latest episode of Wheeler Dealers which they had fitted to a Shelby Cobra and claimed it gave power increases.

got excited there as i thought there was going to be another person in team varex.

What is a varex and what does it do?

I watched that and got the idea from wheeler dealers

Do you need an new exhaust?

Do you want to go faster,

or save fuel/money.?

If you want to go faster, push the throttle down further.

If you need to get a new exhaust & save money.

Buy a Stainless Steel one and go slower and you will save fuel.

(it will be longer before you need to replace the exhaust)

http://www.r32oc.com...-vortex-exhaust

If you do not need a new exhaust,

£500 buys 3500 miles worth of Petrol.

so if you think that you were to spend £500 on an exhaust to save fuel,

(you did not need a new exhaust but spend £500 to buy a fuel saving one)

but then 'It did save' or use 10% less fuel a year,

normally you spend £1550 but will now only spend £1400 a year.

After 3-4 years you might have paid for your Fuel Saving Exhaust.

(& the old exhaust is still sitting in your garage)

george

The claims for increased power and improved fuel economy on that Vortex website are very bold if not totally ridiculous!

60bhp gains on some cars with the only mod their exhaust...... Ummm not sure about that!

The 'eco' exhaust reduces fuel consumption by 25%, how come all the manufacturers aren't using this 'technology'? ;-)

They never bothered getting 'Dealers/Fitters' up in Scotland.

They knew that we were too tight to 'save money' by spending money.

(many called Billy up here not so many called Silly)

We have enough people Pyramid Selling 'Fuel Saving tablets',

& 'Fuel Saving Magnets' for putting on your fuel pipes.

I bought I stainless steel exhaust because I want to get more power and make more noise as do most people. I think your input, like always was pointless. Thanks for enlightening my day.

Quality!! Hahaha

James vrs,

did you buy a Vortex, which was the point of the OP i think.

&

did it give you more power.

Because i think we know that other exhausts can.

If it was not a Vortex, what was the point of your post?

Making a fool of me is OK, i mind not one bit.

You have enlightened us not one jot tho, other than you bought an exhaust.

& i annoy you.

george

The fact that you annoy me was the main point I was trying to get across more than anything else. Well then I can only apologise that the information about my exhaust didn't enlighten you.

It enlightened me tho mate! More than can be said for other pointless boring rubbish on the subject

it enlightened me to, i have bin on here 5 minutes and what george has said seems to be the most pointless and rather annoying thing tbh!

Wait till you see every other thread on the whole forum every topic gets George's wisdom

Any topic i want to post on might. That is if the subject interests me.

Positive or negative they are there to see.

& what has this to do with you?

Troll or flame me if you like, no skin off my nose.

Read them or ignore them as you wish.

george

Haha well said. It's about time someone did.
