headlight removal hid fitting

Featured Replies

I have mentioned this on several topics, I have a can-bus Hid Kit for almost 2 1/2 years.

Have mates at skodaclub here in Portugal who had issues for using non can-bus kits.

They had the lighting ECU fail.

Remember how I shared how to change the CH/LH from main beam to parking and fog lights?

This happened when I ticked the box where it says " xenon without shutters".

Was ticking the box because of the wiper issues that I have read on the net, further investigation revealed that this was a big issue on Audi A3 models.

  • Excuse me for a moment Buddy while I inhale your grief. How can I explain to you why your guy is unable to do anything? my man has a genuine Ross tech kit. I personally plugged it into my obd port

  • Absolutely no need for you to make this remark at all. If you'll notice the "illegal crew" have stayed out of every single discussion that has appeared here. Why? Because there is simply no telling so

  • That looks like the slimline ballast kit from eBay seller londoncolour to me. I take it that the person who cannot access the CECM on the latest cars is using a genuine VCDS cable and the latest vers

Now this is getting confusing. So am I to believe the whole game has switched from "Only use Non Canbus and code to suit"

To

"Only Use Canbus kits in 2012 cars" ?? :wonder:

well ive made the mistake and from experience this is what i would do,FL models mine been a 2012 you need a cambus hid kit as you cannot excess the central electoronis so your hids will flash, not sure on PRE-FL but what i read is none canbus is fine cause vcds lets you into the central electronics so you have the option to select the xenon/shutter option, ive just bought a cambus kit to sort out my problem

You see this is what I am confused about. My last car was an MY11. Facelift and I had no problems fitting/coding or using them

Before i got them coded i had the same issue as you. Flicker on and off.

Got it coded and issue sorted.

Wonder should I get a new kit of 55w canbus ones ?

Though I am still convinced these will work.

The pics above are from an Audi A3 owner.

My is a 2010 model.

I don´t see what coding was done with vagcom/vcds. Like I said when coding" xenon without shutters" (early vcds program) now says "CH/LH via foglights"

That´s how I ended up with and so have many on here, with CH/LH on foglights. Yes you do need light sensor I think.

I use a slim canbus kit, it has low power peak on start up. (my dad on his Toyota verso and friends Fabia 2004(many have problems with hid kits to work properly), We all have the same kit, only the bulbs are diferent.

I have a 07 plate octavia VRS and run a cambus HID kit without any problems. Just fitted them turned on and no problems for over a year now.

CanBus this CanBus that, I'm well f**king confused!

All I want is a definitive answer to this question. What Hids will work without the need for coding with my brand new Blackline? If it does need coding, then do be it.

Same here mate, have had a canbus friendly set fitted to mine for about 40,000 miles now.

No problems at all, fitted them, turned them on, done!

if you have anew shape with running led headlights you need a cambus safe kit,no ifs or buts as the central electronics cannot be opened to change the settings for xenon/shutter,ive spent all day doing mine with no joy at-all.

Is the CanBus safe kit you mentioned

1, A CanBus kit

2, Non CanBus kit

Does it require coding?

Reading your last post I'm thinking the Osrams are the way to go.

You see, this is where you are completely wrong and are confusing people.

My last vRS was a FL model with the drl's and I had NON canbus HID's fitted and coded and working perfectly.

2012 models wont allow you to select xenon/shutter,so if you buy a none cambus kid how are you going to code it in,ive a brand new 62 plate and will not let vcds into this fuction so cannot be programmed,so unless ive a one off car thats differnt to everyone elses 2012 then you will not get them to work,if i was going to fit them again i would buy a cambus kit, also how am i confusing people here as these dont work on my car,you go and buy a none canbus kit and tell me how you got them to work,if these dont work then you have wasted your money but if you buy a cambus kit it will work.

You stated the NON canbus kit will not work in a FL model with DRL's.

I had them in this car.

I am confused by what you are saying.

i have just said they wont work in my 2012 car,if your confused i would suggest you go buy the none canbus kit as you no they work, dont give me any stories you had these working so iam sure you will get them working in your new car,as for everybody else buy none cunbus or cambus its pot look

I've had a cheap set of 4300k non canbus ones fitted for over a year with no problems. They are nice and white but I hate the way the Octy lights flick up to the left, it seems to light up the whole hedge and I'm wary of being flashed when going round corners.

right ill do this in retard terms,my 2012 octavia vrs will not let vag com/vcds into the central electronics moduel to programme xenon headlights, you have to programme them to stop them fickering, iam not on about 2011 cars iam on about 2012 cars,so if you put a none canbus safe set onto a 2012 car they will flash as mine did and they also put a warning light on the dash, this is because they need programming which you cannot do,if you dont want this problem then fit a set on cambus safe ones as these dont need coding in so no need to connect to the central electronics moduel,if your still confuse then leave your lights alone

So this should work on my Blackline

BTW easy on the retard comment

You'r post above contradicts what you are saying now.

I really and truly you hope are calling your own posts retarded and not insinuating anyone on here including myself are retarded? :x

I have been in contact with the guy that coded my last car for the HID kit along with other changes in the system.

He is a techie in the Skoda dealership I bought both cars from.

He will check the coding list over the weekend and let me know what the situation is on Monday.

Until then, I will sit and wait.

You do know there is a difference in the coding between Pre FL models and FL Models as far as I am aware.

how would i no when i dont own a pre facelift model, what iam saying again and again is vag com/vcds does not let you programe 2012 cars, well it wont do mine,or unless the none cambus kit has damaged my car.why do people ask the same questions over again, also iam not 100% sure but skoda dont use vagcom

well it should work but i wouldnt go for the 55w models as these will be bright as hell as i fitted aset of 50w to my sons seat ibiza and they are brighter than his high beam lights

I didn't realise that the shutter option was gone on the 2012 cars. :)
