The process for using Millers Eco Max (advice please)

Featured Replies

This may sound quite stupid to ask, however I would like to know the best way of using this additive.

I have the Millers Eco Max, and am due to fill up a full tank of fuel tomorrow. Is my best way to put one shot of millers in first before filling up, then fill car up with diesel, then put the other shot of millers in? (so it mixes it up a bit) or just put a double shot in before/after?

Cheers,

Ollie

Fill up then put in the millers.

I always put it in before I fill up, this helps to mix it and washes it down the filler tube.

If it's the first time you've used it, then double dose it, for the first few tankfuls

I'm with Jim

I used to run it down to almost empty, stick in a double dose while at the pump, then fill up as normal.

In my mind that gave it best chance to disperse throughout the tank rather than just sitting on top of a tank full of fuel.

Cheers for the advice guys it's been useful! :) I look forward to see how well it works :)

Chuck it in, chuck some diesel in. :D

I hope to receive mine v soon, am a first time user too. How much is one 'dose' is it the 50ml they recommend to 50Litres fuel? Double dose being 10ml then?

Overdose before fill up. Have always done it to mine this way.

i used to stick in 60ml for a fill up which based on 40ish litres of fuel is about a dose and a half

The return feed from the fuel pump causes quite a mixing property so just bung it in as and when, a lot of diesel goes past the pump and back to tank.

I agree i used redline stuff and its cheaper and the same really, I've used redline stuff before and i think its good. I put mine in with a 3/4 tank.

I guess you've miss-typed that.

Single dose = 50ml

Double dose = 100ml (not 10ml)

There is a half dose marked on the bottle (25ml).

I normally use 50ml per tankful (35-40l). I suppose a double dose would be 1 and a half (75ml) per tankful, although I have put 100ml in before. If I can remember the old Millers stuff (DPS4) was 40ml in 40l, which was right for our fuel tanks.

haha yes 100ml I meant, thanks :)

Should I be appling the additive everytime I fill up till I run out? Or once every few?

Forgive me for being harsh, but what does it say on the bottle...........? :peek:

It's an additive for fuel that makes it burn cleaner and better resulting in more MPG more BHP, lower emission, less smoke why would you not use it in every tank?

Should I be appling the additive everytime I fill up till I run out? Or once every few?

It's up to you.

I tend to use it at every fill, although don't if I fill up with Super diesel (VPD). I double dose it if I ever use supermarket fuel (very rare), or close to MOT time.
