I have a flatbed 8x5 trailer am in middle of referbishing at moment, i went out earlier and collected some angle iron to build sides onto it,

I don't have a garage at moment so i was taking it down to my mates garage and had trailer board on back of trailer and a bag tied onto back of angle iron as it was hanging over back of trailer as i got some for my car trailer am building aswell,

Was sat in slow moving traffic and came to a stop at lights and thump, women in a seat leon behind me runs into angle iron at back of trailer, i looked in my mirror and could see her looking over front of her car, don't think she even realised what she had done and i wasn't that bothered as it wouldn't do any damage to mine so didn't bother stopping and she didn't seem to care.

Am quiet used to towing small trailer and people seem to forget that theres an extra 8 - 10ft behind car and tailgate trailer, i wondered how long it would be before somebody run into trailer

I would have stopped, if for no other reason that to be sure she wasn't wanting to speak to you.

When she spots the damage to her car she may try and claim that you rolled back into her. If she involves her insurance company and you aren't able to prove otherwise then it may result in a fair bit of hassle for you.

Hopefullly you'll hear no more about the accident, because you left the scene.

Some less than honest people would turn that into a nice claim against you.

No the total lengh of trailer, be difficult to roll back as its slightly downhill, she followed me for another half a mile in stop start traffic but never made any effort to stop me even when i turned off and stopped she didn't follow me

I would have stopped also, she can say you didn't stop after the RTC and she'd be right so you could end up in trouble over that. Did you have a flag tied to the iron that was overhanging?

I had this quite a few years back, a van driver drove his escort van into the back of my Carlton with tow car. I got out to look, while he stayed in his van. Nowt to my Carlton but smashed front end on the van, as he just sat there I got in and we both drove off. Heard nowt about it lol
