You have a PM mate. :)

Also, for those interested, I looked in the obvious place for the part number (on the engine cover itself!)

Part Number: 03C 103 925 BR :)

Just got quoted £1,668 for the engine cover on one of these spares websites.. my personal opinion thinks that's a bit steep..

Any information where I could possibly pick one of them up? I've found a few from German sellers on eBay but with the VW logo insert

Are u sure you don't get the engine with that lol?? Try Skoda, doubt they will be more than £25

Finally got around to ordering the engine cover and some 8x8x race blue paint and lacquer :) can't wait for the end results and will hopefully post some pictures up! although won't be attached to the car.. as I haven't got it yet :giggle:

Finally got round to posting the final results up of my painted engine cover. I originally had it painted with the TSI lettering in red but didn't think it would look quite right with the black, so took it back to the primer and finished it in the same race blue. Unfortunately no pictures of it on the car.. as I am still waiting for it.. Roll on December!

What sort of paint did you use? Or to put it another way, how heat resistant is it?

I firstly just used some grey plastic primer I had spare from Halfrauds, then had some Race Blue Aerosol mixed and finished off with clear lacquer (both supposedly rated up to 300*C)

Looks very nice - would like to see it installed.

Looks good, mate Thinking of painting the oil cap?

Cheers mate! I think i'm either going to just leave the oil cap or get a different one. I used paint apparently suitable to 300*C and had a feel and smell of it after a 20 minute run and it felt okay and smelt okay. But will definitely keep an eye on it as the last thing I want is for it to spontaneously burst into flames!
