Rear Badge

Featured Replies

I just recently bought the new skoda badges. I managed to fit the front one fine, but i cant work out how to remove the rear badge.

Could someone that has done it please give me some advice.

Cheers

John

Hey Web

Try using a hairdryer on the badge. Warm it up so the adhesive at the back softens. Heat up for a couple of minutes and then try to lift it out from its recess. If not then heat it up a bit more and try again until it comes off. Make sure you don't hurt the car, use a plastic prying tool or put a towel on the metal where your screwdriver will touch.

As for sticking the new badge you will have to apply a fair bit of silicone and tape it overnight.

After using a hair dryer or not too hot Hot air gun,

I use High Breaking strain Fishing Line in the way you would use floss.

Very strong nylon thread will do if you have any.

Just carefully slice through the tape that holds the badge on.

(no scratches)

Never had any paint damage.

Turps or White spirit to remove the tape/glue if you do not have Paint Thinners or Glue remover.

I would use Badge Tape, thin tape & trim neatly so as not to show.
