Toureg Atheos wheels

Featured Replies

Hope some one with some wheel knowledge can help.

I've got myself a set of VW Atheos wheels that I'm thinking of fitting to my Octy wagon but not sure if I can get them to fit or what size tyres to fit

The stats on the Atheos are 19"x9 Et 60 PCD 5x130 not sure of centre bore

Here's the wheels:

Here's what they could look like

Now i know I'd need 5x112 to 5x130 PCD adapters, was guessing about 15mm to bring the ET down to 45, and was thinking of either 225, 235 or 245/ 35/ 19 tyres

Am I barking up the wrong tree here?

They could work, although it will depend on what suspension you run as well, given the original offset and width.

I'd say 15mm hub-centric adaptors to obviously convert to 5x112 and bring the offset down to 45. I wouldn't personally bring it down any further than that, chiefly because of the width of adaptor you'd have to run. 20mm for example, as the next step up, is a big chunk of metal to add onto the wheel hub in my view.

Centre bore should be standard at 57.1 but obviously double-check that before proceeding.

Nice looking wheel.

Great wheels those are.

And as Wardy says :)

Good luck hope they fit.

19x9 are fairly large. So what size tyres are you running now? Just to compare the OD.

agree with wardy - 15mm adapter could work giving you et45, but the 9" width might be a bit too much.

some other things go consider -

- a 9x19 cast (?) wheel designed for a chunky offroaded is going to weigh a whole heap more than your OE wheel, so your car will accellerate slower and ride/handle worse.

- you'll also add a bunch of unsprung weight with the adapters/bolts

- it'll look pants unless you reduce the ride height too

tyre size - might be a case of experimentation - nick p runs 215's IIRC to minimise rubbing and he has some wide rims.. unfortunately the narrow tyre /stretch will also have a negative effect on your ride quality.

google tire size calculator, and wheel offset calculator - these tool will help you work stuff out.

Do it!

Will look good :)

Thanks for the help, running standard suspension and likely to stay that way as use the car daily to run 2 kids about and have a steep drive and loads of speed bumps to get to my street and can't really afford air

The car has the standard 18" 2008 VRS alloys, not sure what width they are or the name of them sorry

Don't wanna ruin the ride of it so I think I may junk the plans...... b*gger

Standards will be Zeniths on a 2008 - pretty sure they're 7.5J wide, and a ET51 offset.

Thanks wardy that's the fellas

Look nice on that Audi

45 et on 9 inches may be a bit too far out on the front though? I'm running et 45 on 8 inch 18's and it nearly poke out with slightly lowered suspension.

i think it would be a tight fit with the widths and the ET's, and dont sell them too cheap as they can go for good money on the like of ED38.
