Monza and back

Featured Replies

5 days in Monza which included 3 days of work - 1840 miles - the "best" of which was the last day. 509 miles on French motorways on which we averaged 70 MPH without breaking one speed limit and stopped for coffee. Another highlight was 170 odd miles on cruise - never disconnected it once - a new record.

There are a series of blog posts here however ,,,,

Needed to get two of us and all our photo equipment to Monza for the F2 and GT Open races. Grantham - Dover for the excellent P&O Service - Reims for a stop on the 1st day (left late in the afternoon). The Reims to Monza day 2. Three days of work and after the last race made a break for the border (literally) small hotel 40 miles the other side of the Mont Blanc tunnel for the night. Last day 509 miles in France to Calais - same excellent P&O service to Dover and then on home to Grantham.

As if anyone needed telling - the Skoda Superb (1.8 TSI in my case) is excellent. It just eats up the miles. Quiet - smooth - comfortable.

I do like pulling up next to the over priced "clones" and giggling to myself that they spent £5-£12K more than I did.
