My octavia vrs on an 02 plate with 91500 miles on the clock has developed a Slight hesitation when pulling off from a stop and a missfire.

Does anyone know if skoda still do the coil pack re call on this age and mileage ?

Worth giving your local dealer a ring, quote Ignition Coil Campaign No: 28 F7 and give them your reg number

Steven spoke to Skoda this morning and they have booked it in for coil pack exchange on the recall.

That's great news. I've got an 04 plate vRS with the same issue. Stutters up to 2,000 rpm then no probs from then on up the rev range. Contacted Central Skoda in Brum last week and enquired about the recall, gave them my reg etc and they said they would call back within the hour. I'm still waiting!

Bagel, i had that at first with the closest dealer i found i then rang the next closest which was 18 miles away quoted my reg and vin number and they booked it in possibly worth a try?

Cheers Steven, I'll call them back and play on the poor service and see where that takes me. I'll then try next one like you suggest. The service guy seemed ok on the phone, think he's just forgotten so benefit of the doubt and all that..........good luck with yours mate anyway. You'll have to post the results as I'm hopeful that's what's wrong with mine.

I have just called my local Skoda up to see if they will do my car, as I am getting a slight jerk when going slow, computers are down so waiting on a call back

just had my call back, cars booked in for Friday, they said its going to take half a day so will supply me with a curtosy car aswell... great service so far.. (just hope it fixes my problems)

I haven't a clue, its just the time she quoted me on the phone. I shall bring it to there attention on Friday when i take the car in, and see what they say, but all she said was it had an ignition coil pack recall,

I did think it was quite a long time, but presumed they knew best..

They will 25 mins included a quick look around to see if everything is ok, mine had new pads and tires plus a front mounted intercooler so think they realised I look after stuff lol

so mods wont effect the warranty, as I have HKS Induction kit on there,

Nope it doesn't. Its a fault recall on the packs themselves. Err you have doubled checked that the packs are original? 1 of mine wasn't, luckily another member gave me 2 of his old ones as spares free

No I haven't, I wouldn't know how to check to be honest, so fingers crossed they are... if they aren't I'm presuming they just wont change them over ?

Just an update ... Coilpacks were changed and problem solved skoda even valeted my car for me bonus

How do you know if you have the none defect ones?... in other words could I get mine a new set of coil packs for free?

Depends what letter they have on the end of the part number. See this thread:

To be honest most Mk1 Octys will have them done by now, the original recall was back in 2005, or individual failed ones will have been replaced here and there by indy garages

As chicken said but even still I brought mine on a 02 plate a week ago but it still hadent been done so I phoned skoda and I got the coil packs done under recall freebie bonus

just got mine done, couldn't fault there service, the woman on the phone had booked it in for injector recall, instead of coil pack, so that's why it was booked in for half a day, but that was cleared up when I got there

they changed 2 ignition coils, then washed and vac'd it and gave it a 34 point check up

lucky really as I hadn't noticed my rear tyre was actually touching illegal,
