Tracking your order (new car)

Featured Replies

Is there a way on the Skoda website, or anywhere else, of tracking your order?

Waiting for my Blackline and was told last Friday when I ordered it it was 'sitting in Bratislava'. Popped into the dealer yesterday to see if they've heard anything and it's 'sitting in Bratislava' all be it allegedly waiting to go on a ferry. They couldn't tell me when they'd have it, and as the salesman constantly talked mince when I bought the car, I hoped there would be a way I could check myself as I don't trust a word that comes out their mouths.

I have no idea why it would be in Bratislava waiting for a ferry when Slovakia is a land locked country lol. I thought they left the factory in CZ and went via train to Emden port in Germany and then onto a big floating warehouse to UK and distributed onwards by road. If you get your order number you can call Skoda UK and ask them directly thats what I did when waiting for mine I didn't even have my order number and they found me on their system with my details.

even if it does say that my blackline is still awaiting a build date and i know for a fact it is in emden germany waiting for a ferry across the sea.

Thanks guys. I thought that too about Bratislava, put it down to the dealer telling me what I wanted to hear, either that or it going up the Rhine on a river boat.

Why buy from them if you didnt trust them??

That site only works for a couple of dealerships so ignore it.

Its my local dealer, they had a chap that I bought a few vRSs from over the years who was really good, but hes moved on but put me in touch with another salesman who, again was really good. But there was this principal dealer guy who got involved and spun me line after line, such as 'Blacklines aren't VAT free', and 'Blacklines aren't included in the free servicing offer', even though I know for a fact he sold a Blackline with both offers the week before. Hes not worked there long, came from Mercedes Benz (you can tell).

I actually went there intent on buying a new petrol vRS, and I drove his demo. He went on and on and on about how fast it was and what a cracking car and had this and had that, sure, it was a very nice car, but his face dropped when I came back unimpressed from the test drive stating that my wee Fabia felt a million times faster.

As Ive bought a few cars from them before, and their customer service is usually spot on I'll stick with them this time.

Mines is waiting to go onto the boat too. Dealer says its missed the boat twice now  so hopefully makes the one today..

You are lucky, guys - I live in Poland so therefore the car only has to come on a train across the border from the Czech Repbulic but I still have to wait 8 weeks from order! Mind you, there are so many cars 'to go' at the dealer, I wonder why I bothered sometimes. In the end, I guess it's worth the wait for the right colour, spec, engine, wheels etc....

Ingram? We nearly walked out because of the guy I think you're talking about. Trying to put the hard sell down when one wasn't required.

It don't think he's the dealer principle though, but seemed to butt in on the sale anyway.

I've had one email since ordering in August from them...no further updates

Your absolutely correct, just checked their website and he's not the dealer principal. He seemed to have the final decision over the salesman I was dealing with though. I was told we'll contact you every week regarding progress of your order, looks like I'll be contacting them instead.

Think it's the same with my dealer. Take the order then that's it, thinking that if there's no news they don't need to pass on.

A courtesy call/email each week would be nice even if no change. We are spending the beat part of £20k after all. Would also mean I wouldn't look such a pain in the arse when I call

I drive past every day on my way to work, so I'll keep you updated if I see any Blacklines sat in the paddock out back!
