Not a happy bloke

Featured Replies

Had the 02 Octavia 1.8T in for a sunroof tweek but they had to run me home as they had double booked.

When they dropped it off a few hours later the car was very hot, had all internal vents closed and there was a strong smell of burning clutch. When I got in to drive I found that it had developped a clutch judder in first and reverse, but this now seems to have gone.

I went back today to complain, but the mechanic managed to get the clutch to slip by dropping it at 5000rpm in 5th from a slow crawl. They are now saying that the clutch is worn and that it just happened to start burning on there drive back

It is under warranty, but if is just worn I will have to pay

The low MPG could just be due to it being left at idle speed in the garage etc. where it is doing 0 MPG.

true, but there was no reason to leave it ticking over whilst fixing a sunroof.

I always write the milage down Just to see how far the test drives been

Contact Skoda UK, tell them about your experience, keep stressing that it was OK when it went in, the bottom line is.

It was ok when it went in, it was defective when it came back, there really is no two ways about it. I'd fight them all the way on it.

Good luck!!

whats the milage on the car ???
