Price of a full service indy

Featured Replies

My car is due its 120k milage service, as per the dash indicator. It works out as every 10-12k it seems.

The garage I tend to use is quoting £170 for the full service via the good garage scheme.

Can anyone comment on the price? This is an independent garage in Leicester.

What are they doing/changing for that price, and is that the full price for parts and labour?

Full parts and labour, that's a full standard annual/10k miles service. Will have a look for the list of what's included, it isn't the interim service.

Check your service book you'll be able to work out what should be getting done.

Car is 6yr old so it should include brake fluid change assuming it's been done every 2yr. That's normally about £40 on its own.

I can't remember if spark plugs are 40k or 4yr.

Brake fluid prob will need doing come to think of it, will check the service book later to confirm. Spark plugs arnt an issue, its a diesel!

Cheers guys

Seems not a bad price if the brake fluid is included.

I doubt brake fluid is covered. From what i can tell they have 2 service packages, full & interim. Blindly I have always asked for a full service, but the interim seems to be what I need... EDIT: Air filter, pollen filter, fuel filter are all not included. I'd struggle to do them myself with the weather & time constraints so looks like it will be the full service I will go for.

I hate it when garages list pish like that. 2/3 of those points could be summarized as "have a good look round". I'm not saying they're bad or anything like that but it's just written up to make a "50 point service".

Arnold Clark is the king at that. They used to list a 20 point check or something like that but they counted each wheel separately.

Mine's going in for fourth year fixed service, only doing 7K a year so semi synthetic used, service includes brake fluid etc and I'm being charged £260 by specialist dealer. Main dealer wanted £269
