Mk1 octy vrs

Featured Replies

Hia all.

I have heard loads about putting a rarb on these but my question is what size works best with a standard farb and a s3 top strut?

Could someone give a guide price for what kind of cost I'm looking at as well please.

Thanks guys

Hey one that we have seen good returns on stock and lightly modded vRS' is the Whiteline Rear ARB which we have on offer at the moment!

However if you wanted to go a little extreme with the sizes Neuspeed do offer a 28mm rear bar! But I would say that is more suited to a track go-er

Thanks buddy. Deffo not interested in tracks or anything like that just want her to handle around the back roads near me. Sounds like the whiteline bar is what I'm after, is the difference really noticeable ? Cheers

Sounds right to me too :D

Yeah they really do make a massive difference!

We have them on the shelf ready to go too :D

Awesome Mike

As my front arb bushes were gone, I went for a golf r32 front arb fitted and ordered by skoda. And a neuspeed 28mm rear bar that I got from awesome.

The difference is massive. So much more speed can be carried through corners, and lift off oversteer on islands is always fun.

The Neuspeed bar is good fun on the rear of one of those! :D

Mike

28mm is not for novice drivers though, and needs the 23mm front to match the characteristics.

the whiteline is a good bar to start with

As Oet says only go for Neuspeed 28 mm RARB if you are also going for the R32 front. And as previous posts a RARB makes a huge difference.

Ok guys I need some more opinions. My vrs is a 54 plate on 60k miles and the original suspension.

Now I've been talking to couple of friends who say forget about the rarb at least short term and get coilovers but only drop about 10mm ish? I've no idea which would be better.

Thanks guys.

Dont buy jom coilovers then as mine are set to max on rear and its about 30mm lower than standard, carnt wait to get them now as my lower brace is taking a right pounding from speedbumps round here

Arh. Ok. See I'm not to fussed about going low. I just want the car to handle better so long as I don't scrap parts over speed bumps as there's a few around my house etc.

Just at a loss now which way to go

R32 Front ARB and Neuspeed 28 mm rear ARB. Do it now ! Then get back on here and thank me lol.

I have R32 front end, roll bar, hubs, arms rack etc but dont have a rear one yet,

I heard weitecs seem to be the coilovers of choice for VRS's

Lol group1....after seeing your engine bay I've decided your already a bad influence as I'm spending money on shiny parts lol.

If the R front end makes that much of a difference I will price it up and see what I can do :-).

Thanks also volvomeg I've heard the same about the coilovers...just trying to do everything on a budget but tbh I would rather it was done right so want informed options to make a decision

If your car is still on the original springs/dampers I would replace them first, when my car was new it handled well but over time they wear out and make for a sloppy ride,I've just put kw coilovers on mine and the difference is amazing, but no point in fitting rarb if you dampers etc are shot
