Error Codes

Featured Replies

Hey gang,

So I got my blue OBD2 cable and ran it with VCDS-lite and got the following codes:

08 - Auto HVAC

4 Faults Found:

01271 - Positioning Motor for Temperature Flap (V68)

30-10 - Open or Short to Plus - Intermittent

01271 - Shareware Version. To Decode all DTCs

29-10 - Please Register/Activate - Intermittent

01271 - Shareware Version. To Decode all DTCs

28-10 - Please Register/Activate - Intermittent

01596 - Motor for Outside/Recirculated Air Flap (V154)

41-10 - Blocked or No Voltage - Intermittent

15 - Airbags

1 Fault Found:

00532 - Supply Voltage B+

07-10 - Signal too Low - Intermittent

I was aware of some issues with the heater motor, it tends to stick as it moves. I thought that with a recalibration this can be fixed but it doesn't seem I can do it with VCDS (or at least the free version).

The airbag one though, I've got no idea about that. Is that normal?

Cheers

Thats normal, i get that, along with other 2 things, its just because your using the battery at the time so it wont be fully charged...or so i got told!

Good to know - just the heater flaps I need to sort, then!

Have you reset them first? Reset/clear them, scan again in a bit and see what comes back as they could have been old fault codes.

If it puts your mind at rest, my Polo always has that airbag one too.

I have reset them now - as indeed when I first bought the car (back in June) they both stopped working completely and I had them out, cleaned them, and refitted but never reset the codes - so I will keep an eye on them. The heater motor is still sticky though (you can hear it when the engine is off) so a recalibration would be best - but I guess I need to find a friendly person with VAGCOM for that!

I've got VAGCOM if you're ever around Aylesbury or Oxford (weekdays), but no idea how to do that! Sure it can't be too hard though and nothing Google can't solve. :) I'd expect there to be someone closer though.

Thanks for the offer Trigger! Ended up borrowing one locally and ran the output tests - could here it sticking as it went so definitely need to source a new heater motor at some point!

Whilst I had it I ran output tests on everything (that I could). The one that was interesting was my ABS module - if I tried to run the output test the module would disconnect me, the lights would stay on, and every other module (central electric, instruments, engine) would have an error after saying something along the lines of 'no signal from ABS module'.

Does the output test feature just not work for the ABS module?
