Wooooooohooooooooooo!!!!

Featured Replies

Put the Octy into the Garage for some warranty work this morning. Instead of the usual 1.2 Fabia estate, i requested the use of the Demo Fabia vRS for the day. F**K those things can shift.

First opinions are very good, although i would prefer a bit more feel through the steering, especially with such power at the wheels. I like the way the car pulls so hard in every gear from 1,000 rpm.

Although, i think i will stick to the Octy, even though with the chip and filter it puts out about 140bhp, its nowhere near as sharp or responsive as the Fabia. But, i have climate control, all electric window and a sunroof.

Would def. take the fabia out again! :D

They certainly do move! I love mine to bits.

I wish my dealer let me have a Fabia vRS or an Octy 2 of any description as a loan car. :finger:

I normally get a 1.9TDi Estate, so its not all that bad. Quite a telented little car really, and I'm sure many people could make good use of the boot... The other courtesy car is a 1.4 16v Automatic Fabia. Might have a spin in that next time. Could be interesting as I've never driven an auto! ;)

i took mine in for some warrenty work and they gave me a fabia 1.2 hatch. tbh i was very impressed, but i also thought that the stearing was too light for my liking. i asked if i can have a fabia vrs and they said no! :finger:

thinking back i know why........i over took him on the motorway at over a ton and beat him to work!

I forgot to say, shortly after leaving the dealership with the vRS i came to a set of traffic lights (two lane). There was only one car there at the time, a silver Octy 110 TDI (same as mine) only it had chavved out, sorry blacked out windows. The lights stayed red for quite a while, and i watched the Octy edge forward ever so slightly. As soon as the green appeared, he took off. Now this was my first outing in the Furby, so i didn't plant the boot. I took off moderately in first just to pull up side him. Then i found second and let the Furby go for all it was worth. By the end of second i was at least 3 car lengths in front of him. :D

I was well chuffed, but i would luv to meet him again when i have my Octy back (with chip and filter included)

The amount of people i could embarass if only i had the furby for a day!!!

It is one sharp little car, and the only way i will ever take one on in the Octy will be 50mph+, at least i might stand a chance there.

i,m not so sure you would. the fabia vrs has devistating mid range acceleration. i have found in mine that third gear is the best. and when in third gear going from a 40mph to national speed limit, there havnt been any cars yet in my experiences that can keep up with me.

My cars with the dealers as we speak and i've been given a very nice Octy 2

It's only a 1.4 but it's still put a big :D on my face!

I normally get a Micra from mine, or a bog standard Clio. My stepdad got a Micra when his Laguna first went in (it's still there) he wasn't the happiest bunny to say the least. He complained about the fact they have had the car longer than he has had it over the last 2 months.

He has a Corsa now! Made me laugh anyway. I told him to ask for an Octy 2 so he knows what he's missing.

How refreshing to hear an Octy owner praising the mighty Fab vRS.......fair play to you

My 1.2 fabia is going in for a service on 21 may. The dealer agreed to give me a fabia vrs from 8.30 to 12pm :):):) , if possible i would like to extend that but we'll see. I'm only 18 so this will be my first experince of a 'real' car, i cant wait.

But 3 and a half hours? what can i do to make the most of it?

Drive about 200 miles :D

Last time I got a 1.9 SDI Furby as a loan car - not too bad really :D

As for the feeling in the steering wheel - apparently the strut brace helps significantly in that area, still awaiting feedback from insurers on that one, hopefully next week :D

Based on a lot of posts here it seems the Octy vRS will eat a Furby vRS from a standing start. In-gear it is pretty close, probably edging towards favouring the Furby. Once you get into 3 digit mph figures the Octy will scream away again due to it's vastly better aerodynamics.

I've not driven an Octy myself, but I've seen a few vRS ones near where I live and it's fast for sure :D - both are excellent cars :)

Can imagine you getting a bit of a shock going 'down' to a 1.2 petrol Fabia though, that sure is a lot less powerful (not a slouch though but it's the base engine so it ain't gonna be burning the tyres) :D
